It's early still, but a quarter of the way into the season, how many teams do people think will finish with 100+pts this year? Right now there's 7 in East and 1 in the West projected to hit 100+. Never realized there was such a difference so far into the season. Top WC team in East would be 2nd highest point per game average in West.

Leafs beat the Caps and now tied with Bruins and Wings in standings. Crazy to think they'd be a playoff team right now if they had even average defense.

Matthews with a goal, Kadri with a goal, JVR with a goal, Marner with 2 assists, Andersen with .943sv% in the game. Great game all around.

First game I've attended this year. Awfully generous of the Wild to start Kuemper.

So I went to my first ever hockey game, Rangers vs Hurricanes. I had a lot of fun, helps that the Rangers won.

Awesome. How'd you like it compared to watching on TV?

Well, the Bruins announcers tend to break out the sour grapes after a loss, now, don't they. Don't get me wrong, they strain to hand out a compliment here and there to the other team, but it sounds a bit painful for them.

It was weird at first with all the stoppages when they went to commercial break but I enjoyed more especially with watching it with other fans compared to by myself. It was funny watching the MSG broadcast feed being late compared to the live game, when the PP ended for the Rangers there was still 30 seconds left on the broadcast feed.

Also new and improved MSG was really nice, seats below me had TVs showing the Rangers broadcast and ESPN.

NHL, maybe you guys would have less back to backs if you don't make weird scheduling like having a team play 2 games in 9 days like the Leafs are about to have happen....

Ones like this current back to back they had(Edmonton-Calgary trip) isn't bad since it's locations real close. But hate other ones like playing in Toronto one night, then having to face the Pens in Pittsburgh the next.

On plus side, one of those 2 games in these next 9 days is against the Canucks. A month after that crazy/intense game with all the players fighting, dirty hits, and goalies fighting. Especially with game being in Vancouver(where fans will be riled up alot), you know somethings gonna go down in the game.

This is one of the ways the NHL creates false parity (along with 3-point games, making sure every team gets the same number of PP's and the Cap).

What I've noticed is that really bad teams always seem to host the best teams when the better club is playing it's 3rd game in 4 nights, while the bad team is coming off a day or two of rest.

What I really dislike about it is, the games are usually garbage - even more so than normal.
The CGY-TOR game wasn't entertaining because the Leafs looked tired from playing Edmonton the night before.
And because teams are usually tired, they play even more conservative than normal.
It's already super tough to produce fun games, but in these circumstances, it's almost impossible.

NBA is no better. How do TWO teams in a single season have to play on back to back nights, the 2 teams who were in the finals? Just one of many examples of how bad it is.

These leagues can talk all they want about reducing number of games or starting season earlier, but just having proper scheduling off of their current system would be fine.

Just go back to the old school "home and home, back to back". League keeps the type of scheduling format the same, and it's 100% fair for all teams. I'm sure teams won't be complaining about back to back as much if the team they play is just as tired as they are,

Laine is on pace to score 48 goals, he's freaking 18.
