Saw a video on twitter that showed him having a syncopal episode (ie he passed out). Also Darren Lang tweeted he was conscious and alert on the way to the hospital. Very good sign.
Edit: I have seen a second video in which CPR was being performed.

Re: The Official 2019-20 Season Talk Thread
"Cardiac episode" per Blues GM Doug Armstrong:
St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong has released the following statement regarding Blues defenseman Jay Bouwmeester:
Pretty shook after watching that live. I had the volume down while watching the game along with something else and when it came back from commercial there was obviously something very wrong.
Glad JayBo's responsive and stable. Postponing/canceling the game was the right call.
Also, the Blues players' dads were coincidentally with the team as an organized part of this road trip - and of course since the incident Jay's dad has been with him the entire time.Last edited by bcruise; 02-12-2020, 01:56 AM.Comment

Re: The Official 2019-20 Season Talk Thread
The way this season is currently shaping up, 2 teams in the east will miss the playoffs with a higher point total than 3 teams in the west which made the playoffs!
It's the reverse of the nba.
Also, 3rd in atlantic could be worse than the 2nd WC spot (possibly even worse than 6th seed in Metro division which missed the playoffs).Last edited by Majingir; 02-12-2020, 03:18 PM.Comment

Yeah that was bad bad. Lucky the player was unscathed and frankly unbothered by the kick to his chest. I’m sure the NHL will see no damage done and deem everything A-okay.
I do buy Kassian’s explanation that it was reactionary but it’s a line you can’t cross. I don’t think all dirty hits are malicious, but they’re still beyond the rules and this one is especially dangerous. He needs to sit for a while.Last edited by slickdtc; 02-14-2020, 01:07 PM.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Sounds like Leafs and Muzzin have a deal in place. 4 years. Will be announced in March for salary reasons.
I'm fine going into next year with Rielly,Muzzin,Sandin,Dermott and 2 others. 1 of those 2 being from the AHL. The other hopefully a top 4 dman acquired this month.
Ceci and Barrie are all but gone. Ceci hopefully gone this season.Comment

Re: The Official 2019-20 Season Talk Thread
I know Blake Coleman is on a super cheap deal and is a quality player, but a 1st (VAN) and Nolan Foote is a lot for the Bolts to give up for him.
Getting a 2nd in return for Andy Greene is solid. New Jersey off to a good start this deadline. Next up is Simmonds and Vatanen, although I'd try to resign the latter if I was New Jersey. I could see Palmieri being moved as well if the price was right.Comment

Teams doing their deadline shopping early. Best value play was probably DeMelo to the Jets, he isn't that much worse than Scandella or Dillon, but costs less on the cap and to acquire. Montreal did a good job at flipping Scandella for more value, sorry Buffalo.
As far as the Canucks/Kings deal, don't sleep on Tyler Madden. He has certainly outperformed expectations relative to his draft position and has pedigree from his dad.
As far as the Wings are concerned, any hope we had for veterans improving their stock enough to be dealt has long gone out the window. If Yzerman had planned on moving Athanasiou, he certainly waited too long. The good news is Gallant and Boudreau are both available as improvements over Blashill.Comment
