I'd imagine not too many fans in the west coast for either team lol.
My guess at the times: (local time)
Day 1:
Islanders/Panthers-12pm
Rangers/Canes-4pm
Habs/Pens-8pm
Jets/Flames-4pm(or 12pm if they're spacing things out)
Hawks/Oilers-8pm
Day 2:
Flyers/Bruins-4pm
Leafs/Jackets-8pm
Coyotes/Preds-12pm
Avs/Blues-4pm
Canucks/Wild-8pmComment

League will be "customizing" arena so it comes off better on TV with no crowd. They'll be using EA Sports crowd noises. I guess if it's in the game, it's in the game.
Speaking of EA Sports, the arena customization really does look like some sort of mini game arena.
Hopefully it does come off looking great on TV. Although if anything, wouldn't it have been better if they just dimmed the lights on the seats so the focus is just on the ice?

Less than a week before the playoffs begin! And we're getting exhibition games this week as well!

Re: The Official NHL 2019-2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
I like the audio setup for NHL more than the MLB setup.
MLB has an audio button for specific moments. NHL has background chatter (the rhubarb/walla effect. I just wanted to mention that since I learned about it in my school from a random teacher who used to be a director/producer).
Although maybe MLB varies? Nats audio tonight sounds like regular background noise, although you hear the piping more. During Rays series I heard nothing outside of the audio button.
The covering for the crowd is ok. I would've used a different colour. Though I guess you can't get one to satisfy all teams so they went generic. Surprised they didnt sell ad space on those tarps.
Hockey more than other sports I feel like the team designated the home team still actually has an advantage during a time like this. Baseball you have a small one since you're in your own ballpark and all, but for hockey, that last line change does make a difference, especially in the over coached era.Last edited by Majingir; 07-28-2020, 09:31 PM.Comment

Re: The Official NHL 2019-2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
So i have not followed that closely and so i just found out they are going to start playing again like 8/1 or something. Can any one give me a fast run down on how things are going to work? They are going straight to playoffs right? Is it just in one location like nba or are they still traveling all over? Is the playoff bracket the same has normal etc? I have been following nba a lot more close. NHL i normal watch sharks and that is it but man i miss sports much more of a nba and nfl guy.Comment

Playoffs are altered.
Instead of usual 8 teams per conference we're getting 12. The top 2 per division (so 4 teams per conference) compete in their own mini tournament for 1-4 seeding.
The remaining 8 per conference compete in a best of 5 series. The winners of the 4 series will then be reseeded accordingly. So the best team in the top 4 team set of games gets to face the lowest seed of all teams who won their best of 5.Comment

I'll post first half of my imperfect predictions for this year. Because of how my picks lately, especially last year went, I'll just go with the "crazy picks" over who I think will win.
Jackets over Leafs
Habs over Pens
Canes over Rangers
Panthers over Islanders
Jets over Flames
Hawks over Oilers
Wild over Canucks
Coyotes over Preds
Pens win draft lottery
Cup finals probably ends up Panthers vs CoyotesComment

Re: The Official NHL 2019-2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
NHLs plan working so far.
Hawks up 1-0 in series.
Apparently the tournament was designed to NOT give home ice advantage?
BOTH teams get their goal horns during games, and seems like no booing sound effect.Last edited by Majingir; 08-01-2020, 05:55 PM.Comment
