Nah. Montreal should not be getting any picks back. They should have to live with blowing it in that case by that dumb decision.

Bruins signed Foligno from the Leafs.

So Leafs go out and sign Kase and Ritchie.

Ritchie is only 26 and was on pace for a career year last year. And the thing the Leafs really need, he delivers lots of hits while having good puck posession.

He can fight too, so that helps a lot since nobody else on the Leafs ever does anything.

Arizona cheats by working out prospects before the draft.
Evander Kane allegedly bets on Sharks games.
NHL law immediately descends on both situations with scorched earth effort.

Blackhawks players are raped.
Prospect is convicted of sexual misconduct and asks not to be drafted, which Montreal ignores because being good at hockey>>>>>law and order.

Two of these crimes affects the bottom line and threatens competitive balance while the other two don't.

The NHL is extremely transparent about what it considers important and what isn't worth its time.

It only changes if enough fans make the NHL pay notice. People cancel their season tickets. Protest at the arena for every home game. Put pressure on politicians to put the squeeze on team owners. Put pressure on media to ask questions about Aldrich and Mailloux to every player, every team official, every game. Make the status quo a money loser. Make the status quo unbearable. That's the only way things will change. The Blackhawks and Canadiens think none of that will happen, and they're almost certainly right.

By comparison to the Habs, Hawks, Canes, it's a non issue, but Leafs hired a new guy to be their AHL goalie coach.

Sounds harmless....until the internet simply viewed his Twitter account (which has since been deleted). Checking out the things he's liked, he's definitely not someone you would want on your staff (or in the NHLs case, maybe he is ok on a coaching staff...until the public is aware of that person, then they can just apologize)

Would've expected more from them given their counterpart in the Raptors are one of the franchises strongly pushing for change and equality, and obviously the diversity of the city too.

Sadly, dont think he's getting fired or anything. Just amazes me how incompetent teams can be. Literally just Google people's names and check their social media accounts before hiring them.

Kaprizov seems like he could sign in the KHL for 1 year and over 10M.

Must be a horrible spot to be in for the Wild. If they want to sign him, they'd need to put up a good offer, but at the same time, if they lose him, they get nothing.

I'm sure he was a 5th round pick for a reason, but it goes to show that even today, it's still a risk drafting guys who could wind up in the KHL.

Unlike other teams, Leafs immediately terminated the goalie coach they hired. At least they redeemed themselves.

#1 pick Owen Power has decided to play another year in college.

Can't remember last time a #1 pick didn't immediately play for their team (not including lockout reasons).

I wonder if he just doesn't even want to play for Buffalo.
