I got my 1st round playoff picks right minus Boston losing to Carolina.

Trotz never won anything in Nashville, but that's part of the growth too that he could hopefully bring.

He was part of the Preds who's lose in the first round year after year. So while he never coached them out of the first, hopefully the change of scenery to Washington and eventually winning the cup there, and then making back to back conference finals in NY could mean he could help the Leafs "unlock" whatever it is they need to go from being the team like Nashville was with Trotz, and the Caps were before winning the cup, into one which can do damage in the playoffs for more than 3 games in the first round. If they do interview him, I'm sure that would be one of the questions, is what he learned and noticed that the Preds lacked which led to all those first round exits, that he ended up realizing from the success eventually in Washington and then the deep runs in NY.

Hey, I'm glad Bruce is staying in Vancouver for now, but he's the last guy I'd want in Toronto.

Meh. This was a rare occurrence where I rooted for every single "favourite" (since, with the exception of Nashville, all of the "underdogs" were the more established team).

Tampa's route to a threepeat is considerably tougher now than in my original scenario.
Rooting for Florida, Carolina, Colorado, and... 7 games of fire and blood, I guess.

          I vividly remember watching the Battle of Alberta when I was 10, 11, 13, 15, 18... and now I'm 49. Ugh.

            I'd say

            Lightning over Panthers in 6
            Canes over Rangers in 6
            Flames over Oilers in 7
            Avs over Blues in 5

Losing Nichushkin in free agency will actually make me depressed

Unless Miska is playing in this playoffs, it will be a huge choke job if this Avs team don't make it to the SC finals

Mike Smith, honouring the 1980s Battle of Alberta tradition with a tribute to 80s goaltending.

Did I finally wake up in 1986? Is MacGyver coming on after the game?
