Re: The Official 2022-23 Season Talk Thread
I've seen almost as many seasons of this current division/playoff format as I had the old one.
I miss the old divisions/format still. Northeast division of Toronto,Boston,Ottawa,Montreal,Buffalo.
If they ever have divisions of 4 (I know they won't). I'd love Toronto,Ottawa,Montreal,Buffalo or Boston being those 4 (probably Boston so that Buffalo is with NYR,NYI,NJ)Comment

Re: The Official 2022-23 Season Talk Thread
I wonder if a following move is coming.
Their forwards now are:
Matthews
Marner
Tavares
Nylander
Bunting
Jarnkrok
Kerfoot
Engvall
ROR
Acciari
Kampf
ZAR
Do they move a Kerfoot in another deal? D wise, Holl is a guy who could go (with Timmins being real good, Benn/Mete could be their 7/8 dmen without Holl even being on the team).
Wonder if they could get anything, even just draft picks (almost recouping from this deal) if they move Holl and Kerfoot.Comment

Funny moment from the Leafs today.
Backup goalie Joseph Woll got to practice and found out he's starting tonight. He saw the lineup for the game and saw that ROR and Acciari were on it. It was at that moment he realized the team made a trade.Comment

One of the rules in hockey that should change is buzzer beater rules. It should be like basketball where if the shot has been released before the buzzer, it counts.Comment

Vegas deals Weber to Coyotes.
Coyotes are really the leagues feeder franchise.
They'll develop players for other organizations and eat up their bad deals, all while existing and not making any money while other teams prop them up with revenue sharing.Comment

Re: The Official 2022-23 Season Talk Thread
Never forget, Tage Thompson had 35pts in 145GP in his first 4 years in the NHL, and was just one of the pieces the Blues gave up for ROR.
I mean the Blues did win a cup, but still.
That 2016 draft class is stacked. If that class was an NHL team, I wonder how they'd fare.
Matthews,Tkachuk,Laine top line
Thompson,Debrincat,Keller 2nd line?
McAvoy,Fox,Chychrun,Sergachev top 4 d?
Hart,Gustavsson in net
I'm still bitter about the Raptors game a few years back when they lost on a buzzer beater because the refs claimed the actual clock the players were looking at in person was different than the real clock time.Last edited by Majingir; 02-23-2023, 11:53 PM.Comment

Meier to NJ?!
And TB gave up Foote and a 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th pick in diff years for Jeannot.
He had a good rookie seasons, but this year hasn't been as good offensively. Though he is a guy who'll check everyone like crazy (averages 4 hits per game!)
It's an overpayment to me, but knowing how things end up, he outchecks the entire Leafs in rd1.Last edited by Majingir; 02-27-2023, 12:28 AM.Comment

Dubas making Anthopolous like moves.
Gave up another first, brought in McCabe (hopefully this McCabe is good for the Leafs and doesn't score in our own net).
Your top 4 is Rielly,Brodie,McCabe and whoever between Liljegren/Sandin/Gio are best with McCabe.
Something big will happen if they lose round 1, maybe even round 2 as well. Dubas and others going. They know it, so they really need the team to be better than great vs TB and Boston.
Their forwards grouping consists of two top lines and two 3rd lines. The bottom 6 likely featuring Acciari,Lafferty,Jarnkrok,Kerfoot,Engvall,Kampf?
ZAR is probably now their 13th forward (with Simmonds and Clifford as 14-15th men in the AHL).Last edited by Majingir; 02-27-2023, 03:24 PM.Comment
