In a world with sports betting, I'm surprised they're allowed to say that.
Betting on the outcome of individual NHL games is insanity at the best of times.

NHL continues to prove how much of a joke they are.

Whitecloud leaves his feet on a hit to Knies, gets a 5 that gets changed to just a 2, and Leafs get a 4 minute one for retaliating, meanwhile Knies is out for the game and possibly longer due to injury.

        NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
        NFL - Buffalo Bills
        MLB - Cincinnati Reds

A Saturday night without the Leafs on the schedule is just wrong.

Even weirder, they have a home game on a Sunday.

Although, for the sake of the city, it's probably a good thing not having ANOTHER Leafs game starting and almost ending the same time as a Taylor Swift concert.

            Can't imagine HNIC's "A-team" has called many Canucks/Sens games.

              NHL recycling coaches continues.

Bruins fired Montgomery then the Blues hired him less than a week later.

His last game with Boston was November 18th, his first game with St.Louis will be November 25th. What a crazy week that must be. Shortest turnaround by a coach in NHL history.

Canada's choices for goalies for the 4 nations cup could be Hill, Binnington and....Joey Daccord (who is a dual citizen but doesn't have a Canadian passport).

Sucks what has happened to Canadian goaltending. We sure were spoiled having Brodeur, Roy, Cujo, Belfour at the same time.

But also not surprising when you consider the cost of playing hockey, even more for a goalie.

Jarry I think is the last Canadian born goalie to even receive a vote for the Vezina and that was 21-22!

I've heard this nonstop over the last few years, but details are never provided.

Why is this a uniquely Canadian problem? Is it that much cheaper to play hockey in the US, Finland, Sweden, Russia? One could make an argument that the US has had a stronger economy over the last decade and therefore hockey parents have more disposable income, but that's definitely not the case with the other 3 nations.

Don't know price differences in equipment in other countries, but it's obviously expensive to play, meaning you're mainly only attracting people with bigger disposable incomes who can afford to buy stuff for their kids.

And in many places in Canada, even just owning a basic house now is a million+ dollar expense. The middle to lower class doesn't have the type of disposable income to be signing up their kid for hockey. Seems like more and more people really only want to invest long term in their kid playing hockey if their kid has an actual shot to go pro. If not and you're just doing sports/activites for fun, go play basketball, baseball, soccer.

And the whole "hockey culture" thing too which is a whole other story.

Someone tell me why the NHL thought it's a good idea to schedule a Canucks and Flames games on a Friday afternoon...

They do realize Canadians aren't off today and that's 12pm in Vancouver and 1pm in Calgary.

The NHL sucks with games being on a million different networks or services. I think there’s like 4-5 different networks the Flyers are on this year and 2-3 of them aren’t on a package together or exclusively streaming. If you aren’t a hardcore fan and/or understand the different streaming cable packages, you’re out of luck. I wouldn’t bother. It’s too much work to figure it out. All of the sports leagues are like this. In their quest for the most money they’ve made it as difficult as possible for fans to catch their teams games.

I love they do Black Friday games, and other randomly weird holidays (and Canadian holidays), but yeah makes no sense today if it’s not a thing in Canada to feature Canadian teams.

I just wish we'd adopt US Thanksgiving already! Keep our Canadian Thanksgiving in October (which is Columbus Day in the US), and we can call the 4th Thu/Fri in November... the Beaver Moon Festival or something. (No seriously, that's the name of the 1st full moon in November, what could be more Canadian than a Beaver Moon? )

Faber, Jiricek, and Buium is a pretty nice defensive trio to build around.

There's a 2027 2nd rounder involved? Sounds like an NBA trade.

I welcome the prospect of the Wild becoming a serious contender, though.
