Going to the Habs/Jackets game tonight! I'm a Habs fan and one of my best friends is a Jackets fan. We live about an hour from Columbus. So we try to do this every year.

Does anybody here listen to hockey podcasts?

Was wondering if there were any good ones that covered the whole league.

"the hockey show" with David Dwork and Roy Bellamy cover the league, but do slant a little toward the Panthers (which makes sense)

I'm mystified by how Derek Lalonde still has a job.

Frankly, I'm starting to wonder why Stevie Y still has a job. I understand that he's Red Wings royalty, but it's been 5+ years. The team is no better off than when he got here, and trending in the wrong direction. It's legitimate to wonder whether he just got lucky in Tampa, or someone else there was really the brains behind the operation, or perhaps something is really wrong with the Red Wings organization that is not obvious to the regular fan on the street.

Whatever the reason, I don't mean to be overly reactionary, but I think we're approaching "fire everyone, trade everyone, then fire anyone that's left" territory in Detroit...

Went to the Pens/Flyers game last night. Nothing better than Holiday Hockey and a Pens win over the Flyers. Let's Go Pens!

32 thoughts is ok, you get to hear Friedman ramble about what's happening around the league. It was a lot better when Marek was on it with him.

As much as some people hate Friedman, he is THE insider when it comes to hockey.

He sources are legit, he gets his info directly from players, agents, front office people. But like all insiders, info from the team is released strategically too.

Well, apparently I wasn't the only one.

Welcome back to Motown, Todd McLellan. Let's hope his 2nd tour of duty in Detroit is as successful as his first.

World Juniors in Canada hits differently.

First half of the 2010s it was really anyone's game.

Second half of 2010s was USA, Canada, Finland.

2020s so far has been all Canada/USA, so we'll see how they do this year.

Always great having the crowds going crazy for Canada's games. I like having them in other countries, but the timezone obviously sucks for watching a game where the timezone is 6 hours different (primetime games for instance are at 2pm or so here).

There was a stoppage in play, they play take me home country road, the crowd is singing the entire time, as soon as the song ends, Canada wins the faceoff and scores and the fans continue going crazy.

Canada-Latvia in a shootout? And Latvia wins

This has to be up there for biggest World Juniors upsets ever.

Biggest IMO. One of the greatest upsets in hockey history, regardless of tournament.

Hockey Canada brought bunch of bottom 6 guys + McKenna/Martone, not surprising this is the result.

Sure, but Latvia was 2-33-2 at the WJC all-time going in; a team full of Rob Zamuners should still have won.

Blackwood signed for 5 years over 5m AAV..

Career .905SV% (.900 since 2020) although his goals saved above average this season has been one of the best in the NHL. Avs must really think he's about to break out despite having 7 seasons under his belt already and being at best an average backup/1B goalie.
