Re: Rugby Challenge
I agree that most of the issues are acceptable for a first release like this. At least we have a really fun union game with a ton of potential. I also do love the club/country career mode idea.Comment

Re: Rugby Challenge
Is there player stat tracking? I know they keep my overall stats and stuff, but not player stats....The line must be drawn HERE! This far, no further!Comment

Re: Rugby Challenge
I still post over at DSP regularly and posted something about this game today.

Re: Rugby Challenge
I don't have the game on right now so I don't remember exactly how and can't give you the exact steps but all you are going to do essentially is click on the player on your squad and you can see he stats and what not kinda like inspecting him.
There are tabs on the top, you will find one that gets you to the players stats in the league and you can see his trys, kicks, etc.
That's the beauty of it for me, I don't really understand the actual game of Rugby well enough to know how many or how big the flaws are. All I want is a game that has fun game play and Rugby challenge definitely has that. I follow the Super15 so I'm happy being able to get to play out a season in that competition. I've been having some great games in my Waratahs season so far. Right now this is the only game I want to play so that means NHL 12 and Rage are sitting!

Take it easy & have fun playing this awesome game.Comment

Re: Rugby Challenge
I'm really happy that you guys are having so much fun with the game
We worked our budgetary and time constraints for all they were worth on this one, but it is still what you might call 'a good, solid start', rather than a definitive title. We are aware of the flaws, and are itching to dive back in again. If we get the chance to make a sequel you can expect us to hit a new level, and I will be reporting to the people that matter on what goes on in the 'RC2 Wishlist' thread in our community forums, so don't be shy about posting there. It's there if you have clever ideas about what should be put into a sequel, or if you have thoughts on other people's posts on the subject, or if you wish to suggest a licence you consider important.
For those who a Southern Hemisphere version of the game and haven't patched, I recommend you do. The added gameplay sliders, improved night/rainy game performance, and bug fixes make it well worth making the effort to get your console online.Community Manager - SidheComment

Re: Rugby Challenge
I think you guys did a great job with what I don't doubt was a limited budget (Especially compared to the Madden's of the world). By far the best Rugby game ever made imo and a real great effort for a debut title. I just hope it gets the support for future improved versions because it's good now and certainly has the potential to be great....Comment

I do check it daily though, to mostly read any new suggestions being made that may be something I haven't heard yet.
Again, it can't be emphasized enough...
Great first effort on a Rugby Union game from you guys. Flaws? Sure, but that is to be expected. I honestly hope you guys have enough good sales numbers to warrant a second installment.
You have already laid the groundwork to an awesome foundation for this game.
Congrats and well deserved.
I've had so much fun playing this game, I know others will always talk about the superior presentation of games like FIFA, NCAA, NHL, Madden etc. But I for one, get more enjoyment out of this game than any of those mentioned.Comment

Re: Rugby Challenge
Thanks!
Something I've realised lately is that people aren't piping up if their idea has already been posted by someone else, but it would be great if you could endorse and elaborate on ideas you agree with. That way we can not only see the ideas, but what sort of importance is placed on them by others. Just quoting an idea you like and saying 'this is what I'm keen on' or 'this, but with this also...' will be just as helpful as if you'd posted your idea before anyone else.
If Rugby Challenge does well enough that we get to make another one it will be very tricky getting all these ideas tabulated and prioritised, so knowing which ideas have the most community support could be really helpful in keeping things on track.Community Manager - SidheComment

Re: Rugby Challenge
If you are using a created player, make sure he is on the country's roster as well as the pro clubs and then you play multiple seasons switching back and forth between pro games and national games.
Kinda like in FIFA if I remember correctly.Comment

Re: Rugby Challenge
Yes, exactly what I did as well (except not Bath, Crusaders). Make sure you make his nationality but you still also have to manually add your player to the Eagles and Bath rosters before you start your career.Comment
