Re: What kind of clubs does everybody have here?
Anyone ever hear of KZG clubs? I just got them today, since the clubs I was getting were on back order until next month. I got the irons and 3 wood and a putter. I should be going out w/ friends this weekend to see how pitiful I am.Comment

Originally posted by mgobluehas anyone used the cheaper clubs like this? I'm interested to hear what you think...no way am i paying tons of cash for the name brand clubs (I did for irons, but can't justify the wood prices nowadays). But 50-100 bucks for some clubs that are basically the name brand ones is tempting.
I got the Turner T4 driver and matching 3 & 5 woods (adjustable weight woods like the r7 quad) as well as the Turner TCE combo irons (TaylorMade Rescue Mid-style 3 & 4 hybrids with standard rac OS-style 5-PW), along with gunmetal SW & LW and a heavyweight blade putter.
All of the club heads have been solid performers and have held up quality-wise to my hacking (no breaks, knicks, etc.). The only thing that I've seen in dealing with these clubs is that you have to re-tighten the adjustable weights on the woods fairly often (I do it before every round), something that I couldn't imagine having to do with the $500+ TaylorMade r7. Other than that everythings been great with them.
I just started playing last year and I wasn't about to spend $1000+ on clubs when I wasn't even sure if I would enjoy the game long-term. Instead, after doing my online research, I settled on Diamond Tour because of their extensive club customization options and prices. For the complete set of clubs, including an organizer cart bag and headcovers for the woods, I spent $560 dollars and haven't regretted a moment of it. I can maybe see replacing/upgrading my clubs piece by piece over the next 2-3 years as my game (hopefully) improves, but even then, clone clubs will be my first consideration before name brands.
I think that custom fitting, proper shafts, and club grips (in that order) have a far bigger effect on your game play than does the actual club head. And from what I've seen, pretty much all of the better-known online clone sellers offer familiar, high-quality shafts and grips. Hope this helps!**********************************

Re: What kind of clubs does everybody have here?
thanks a lot SteelerforLife...that helped a lot. Right now i'm more looking to upgrade my woods (still using the woods from when I got a whole set of clubs + bag for 100 bucks)...they're not bad clubs, but kinda at the point where i'd like to upgrade without paying way too much. I'll have to give these type of clubs a look, sounds like what I could use. Same performance, just cheaper.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: What kind of clubs does everybody have here?
i play with synchron medic clubs. they are clones of the nike slingshots. i got them custom made and cheap on solutiongolf.com. i also have the taylormade r7 knockoff driver with the variable weights also from solution golf. for those who are not that good u should definitely think about knockoff clubs. check out pinemeadowgolf.com. they are a good site and they tell you what clubs are knockoffs of the real clubs and have customer reviews. these are the best clubs for the moneyComment

Re: What kind of clubs does everybody have here?
I completely agree with you. If you handicap is like a 3 or lower you could probably justify a 500 dollar driver...but for the most of us who would like to have the big technilogy, but not the 500 dollar price tag...they are a great compromise.Comment

Re: What kind of clubs does everybody have here?
I have the great big bertha irons 2-lw, with the tungsten instert, that I've been playing with since 98. However, I still suck big time!!! It's not the clubs that make the player that's for sure.....
