In this game it is very possible to hole that shot out or at least get up and down easily. There should be a MUCH larger punishment for putting the ball in the really bad spots like in real life.
I could not disagree more. If you are not in the fairway in TOUR difficulty, you aren't going to score well at all and I find that there is tremendous penalty for being in the various rough....

I think he's referring to short shots from about 60 yards in. It doesn't matter if you are in the deep rough, weeds, or fairway, you can usually hit it pretty close to the hole.

After re-reading his statement, I guess I can see where he is coming from. However, I do see lie effects and the different types of lies do affect how the ball behaves.

Yeah, I am not speaking with regards to the tee shot. I agree, if you hit the tee shot in the weeds you have removed PAR. I am speaking of missing the second shot into the green and missing it bad on a steep hill with high grass... I know when the CPU does this against me I don't feel like I have even picked up a half a stroke. In fact, I would rather see the CPU trickle the ball onto the green for a long putt then have a chip shot out of the weeds. They will get up and down almost every time out of the weeds but long putts can result in 3 putts. Just seems wrong to me...

I think my comment was along the same line, but I'm not sure. I understand I'm playing on Tour Pro and of course it should be more difficult...but If I reach the green on a par 4 in two and the computer overshoots into a bunker os similar, they are always able to chip the ball to within a yard or two of the hole leaving a very easy putt. On the otherhand, I was able to reach the green in two, but I end up having to at least two put because I was 12 yards away to start.
