Re: Looking for Input: TW for Wii or 360?

I played the Wii version for awhile and the swing system is great.

The complete wackness of the career is just terrible though. Its pointless to play it and will just frustrate you.

If I had friends that enjoyed playing it with me for money i would still play it, but once you get the swing down and have some fun shooting a round, what else is there to do?

Nothing. Its just another lazy EA product that is not finished and it pissed me off.

Im sure next year they improve the career mode but i feel kinda stupid for buying the game. Its basically a solo semi golf simulator and thats it. The swing controls are really well done though.

Honestly I would wait till next year.

I'm sure that was intentional on EA's part because the improved swing with M+ was the catch this year for the Wii game. They don't want to give away too much too soon. They need people to buy next year's version and the way to do that is to promote the "improved" career mode and PGA style presentation for 2010.

It's too bad because a half decent career mode with some actual PGA stats and not some ******** objectives that make no sense (how do you win 4 majors when they don't allow you to enter the tourneys, I still can't figure out how to become eligible) then I would still be playing this game but now it's just become a party game whch collects dust any other time.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing but, the GS trade-in value is only $22 for the game and $10 for the M+. Not sure I want to trade-in the M+ because of future games that will use it which, means I would have to spend $40 to get the PS3 version. That would be a total investment of $100 on TW this year and I'm not sure I'm willing to do that. But I really miss the career mode on the PS3.

I agree. At first I was loving the Wii version but now I rarely play it. It's a fun game but it lacks depth. I only play it online now for the Play the Pros tournaments. Those are pretty cool...

Next year's version will probably have more depth but if I were a betting man it will take 2 years before it's significantly improved.
