Re: Anyone tried out the Predator DLC?

I chose to get it and I enjoy it's challenge. It's actually harder than I remember because I was shooting lower scores on it on '04.

It's a beautiful course, a nice 'getaway' course from the usual stuff, and looks gorgeous in HD. My best score so far on it is a crappy +9. Seems like I either exceed shot limit on 1 hole in an otherwise good round, or just get too many double or triple bogeys. lol. It's fun, in a masochistic kind of way.

Bring on The Highlands for fantasy and TPC Sawgrass, Banff Springs, Kapalua, and Sahalee for real courses!

I bought the course (because I'm stupid), thought it looked beautiful, played nine holes and quit out of sheer frustration.
I play on the black tees in tour pro mode with my created (aka lousy) golfer. I'd be lucky to crack 120 on this course.
May try it again, but it was definitely a waste of 600 MS Points.
Meh, no biggie. I've wasted way more money on way worse things than this.

Agreed. Waste of money (especially cuz I hated it first time round) but what are ya gonna do.

I won't bother with this after reading some of your impressions. I'd rather they just continue to add real courses. Speaking of which, let me go run a daily...

I was thinking of buying this right now. It looks beautiful. I already got Wolf Creek, but the prices for these courses are pretty steep. I mean seriously, if you buy all the courses it comes out to around $50. If they were $5 I would buy most of them.

It seems as though most people missed the actual concept of this post. He was simply asking if you have downloaded the course, and your thoughts on it if you have tried it.

Sure, the $7.50 that is being charged for it on PSN might be expensive, and the almost $70 to download all of the Add-On courses might be asking a bit much, but it also adds to the replay value and overall enjoyment of the game.

If you have all the courses unlocked and all the Add-Ons, thats 23 different courses for you to play on the PS3 version, plus all the different game modes and online play as well.

Thats a heck of a lot of gameplay if you ask me.

Just my opinions though, so take it as you will.

Re: Anyone tried out the Predator DLC?

I accidentally bought the Predator when I was mindlessly mashing buttons trying to get the Tour Pro mode daily up... before I knew it, I bought it. I played it once and absolutely hated trying to play golf on it. It's very nice to look at, but what you have to do to slug your way around that obstacle course has very little to do with golf, as I know it. One of the biggest wastes of $7.50 I've ever made, but it was my own negligence that led to it... lesson learned

Re: Anyone tried out the Predator DLC?

I bought it. I kind of like the fantasy courses in the series, but I HATED the layout of the Predator course, and some of the greens were a little too ridiculous.

Anyone remember the courses from 2005, like Greek Isles, Paradise something, and Emerald Dragon I think they were called? Those were a blast, and made getting beat up by an 8500 yard course fun.

I've played them and I sort of liked Greek Isles. The only fantasy course that I really enjoyed playing regularly was Central Park. There was just an ethereal quality about that course that I can't describe. It was also fun to play and called upon real golf strategy, more often than not.
