Again, another poor comparison. And I can guarantee you Far Cry did NOT have half the sales of TW....I am not defending anything other than the facts. The issue is very simple....adding another DVD to TW for 360 would add additional cost to the game and would cost 360 users more than PS3 users. You also dismiss the fact that MS and Sony charge EA a fee to host the courses for download, so there is another cost you completely dismiss. Argue all you like, but the facts are indisputable.
You want a poor comparison then the bolded part is it. 10 years ago it would have cost the Links 2000 game a hell of alot more for additonal CD's then it does EA now for additional DVD's. Have you seen the prices of blank CD's and DVD's these days. They are both dirt cheap to the point the cost is negligable.

Again by that flawed logic then no movie studios would ever issue an extra DVD for bonus material for thier films if it was so cost prohibitive. When new movie DVD's come out many films debut at the same prices be it single DVDs or double DVDs. You make it sound like it's a crime that Xbox users be charged a couple of dollars extra because of known storage limitations. EA has no problem charging PS3 and Xbox gamers $10 extra for thier games over the Wii version for superior graphics. There are multi platform games like Batman's Arkham Asylum that gave the PS3 valuable DL content such as playing as the Joker that the Xbox didn't get so giving the PS3 maybe 3 or 4 extra courses is not the end of the world.

How would you solve this problem? Charge $5 extra for both PS3 and Xbox games if it ensures that we get all 28 courses. I would have no problem as a PS3 owner with that especially considering it would probably cost you about $50 extra to pay for all the DLC they will offer now.

You defend EA logically for alot things but this isn't one of them. The Xbox's limitations is simply used as an excuse to gouge the consumer. When the next gen systems come out with alot of storage space we will still get DLC as long as the gullible public still buys it because they don't need that many to buy them because it's pure profit for EA.

Not defending EA, just explaining the reasons with the facts. You don't accept them...fine. No skin off my nose. And when I post here or anywhere, I defend MY opinions and the facts that I am privileged to know through EA's TW Dev Teams....

Was there ever a confirmation on the course list for the disc yet? I saw the list that included dlc but nothing that shows what will be on the hard copy of the game.

Nope, they haven't distinguished yet as to which are on the disc, and which are DLC. Hope to get an answer to that this week.

Just like everything else, they have posted the Wii course list before even giving us ps3/360 course list. What is your major malfunction EA?

I know that part. I want them to distinguish what is disc and dlc, thats all. So I can make plans on what to buy, if anything.

                  Re: Courses?

I can't believe EA expects people to re-buy courses they may have bought not 6 months ago. That would be hilarious if it weren't so sickening. And to imagine people actually complying with them is even worse. Bring on a competitive golf game and let this franchise go up in flames already.

I bought TW10 and did not pay for one DLC course. Even so, I will not buy 11 on this one principle: they expect people to overpay for extra material they have already overpayed for--EVERY YEAR! Haha. See ya Ea.

I mean, they don't even advertise a discount to those who bought the courses last year. If that isn't throwing up your middle finger at your customers, then I don't know what is.

According to the Dev chat yesterday there will be 16 coursed on the disc. So that leaves 16 for DLC. Basically that means on average if prices stay the same and barring package deals Tiger Wood 11 will cost $180+/-.( $60 bucks for the game and on PS3 the coursed were $7.50 each) I don't know about the rest of you guy but that seems a little high for one game.

Yes I know we are not required to get the courses, but who are we kidding. If you play golf and like the game you want as many courses as you can have to play on.

My understanding is that pricing will be lower this year fro single courses and EA is also going to offer course packs at a reduced price. Some of these courses will have updates to them from TW10.

That would be cool. I love this franchise but I thought 10 was a great game and I am not sure if it is reasonable upgrade yet to invest in a whole new game. I bought all the DLC for 10 and I am very happy with it. Would you happen to know how long single player career mode is, any chance it being longer than 5 years. This is the only question I have that I have not been able to find an answer to.

                          Re: Courses?

I can see both sides of the DLC pricing issue. First, I do think that last years pricing was way too expensive and because of it I held to my guns and just bought Cog Hill which was priced lower than the regular $7.50 tag. But they can't just keep giving courses away just because they were in the game a previous year. The answer lies probably somewhere in the middle.

Personally, I probably would of spent more on the DLC had the courses cost less. I always wondered would they have taken more money in had the courses cost say 3 bucks instead of $7.50?

It will be interesting to see what they offer this time around with single courses and the packages.

Prev released DLC should be offered at 99 cents each, new never before DLC should be 3.99 and the only thing I see them packaging together are the fantasy courses and those should be 5.99. That would be fair, or maybe an all in one package for 14.99.

Yes...I agree EA's DLC of previous years courses is despicable. I don't mind paying for new DLC...but having previous years courses as DLC is beyond my ability fathom. At minimum they are offending me as a consumer, at maximum, this is enough to discourage me from buying their product. Here's hoping they don't do the wrong thing.

$.99 doesn't even cover EA's cost of using PSN or XBox Live bandwidth charges....and fantasy courses $5.99 and new PGA TOUR courses $3.99? Um, okay...
