The only course I would pay 10 bucks 4 would be Augusta.

If you do not play online or the Live Tournaments including the Play the Pros and the Weekly Tournaments which are very similar to the offline PGA TOUR Season mode, I can fully understand how you and others feel that way. Because of the plethora of Live Tournaments in TW11 including Weekly Tournaments that include a TOUR Pro TruAim 4 round event every week, I rarely have time to play offline season mode. But I fully understand and agree that $10 is too much regardless and is definitely too much if all you are interested in is offline Career mode. I will continue to push EA to include offline career mode for DLC courses for TW12....I got your back guys because I realize how important this is for many users.

Has any price or talk been mentioned yet regarding the DLC packs? Gotta be a better bargain than the 10 dollar a pop for a course?

Not yet, but if the packs are $10/course, what is the use? They need to price these courses better for sure.....

EA needs to realize this isn't Madden or one of those titles like MW2 that sells like hot cakes and the price of dlc can be at a premium. Like it or not this is not one of those hot selling games and they need to bring the price of dlc down to reflect that. You can get away with it with those few premium games but not this one.

Re: River course at black wolf run

Tiger is a unique DLC exception for me, ESPECIALLY because TW11 is downright this year. So here is my completely useless point of view...and read my WHOLE post before slamming my opinion, please (which I have already stated is USELESS!!). LOL

For me when it comes to TW11 and the DLC pricing, I look at it from a golfing perspective. It costs me about 50-70 bucks for the wife and I to go golfing locally with our equipment, and we just paid over 100.00 to golf on vacation (rented clubs, bought some golf balls). When we play, that's a good three hours or so of entertainment.

Now, to play the river course at Black Wolf....you'll need to go to Wisconsin, pay the green fees, hotel for a night at least, car rental or taxi, food, etc. Can you do that for $10.00? And go back to it and practice on it or play on it whenever you want for $10.00?

See, to me, I view the DLC courses that I WANT to buy as just a $10.00, one-time ticket to play on courses that I really like. It's just a choice you make.

Now before everyone goes on me, YES, I do completely understand the gaming point of view of 10 bucks per course as ludicrous. In GAMING terms, a game that goes for 60 bucks, plus DLC courses that are 10 each is out of line and I agree, they should be more like 5.00 apiece. I definitely believe that 'go-agains' from TW10's DLC should be even less, since they weren't created from scratch like the river course was.

I do understand the gaming viewpoint of the DLC prices for TW11, but for me, 10.00 for any of the DLC course that I CHOOSE to buy is a good deal for how much time and enjoyment I get out of them from a golf perspective.

Just had to say it....now, who's first in line? LOL

Lieutenant Dan, in terms of making a relativistic argument FOR justifying the cost of a $10 DLC, you have succeeded quite eloquently and qualitatively. However, I can apply a relativisitic argument to the other side of the coin that makes me opt to pass on $10 DLCs.

If you look at the average cost of each course on the game disk, which I would estimate to be $2.50 each, maximum (17 x $2.50 = $42.50, leaving only $17.49 for the rest of the game development), the cost of the DLC courses so far are 4X the cost of the courses on the game disk. Yes, I know there are distibution and licensing costs that are above and beyond the bundle price courses on the disk that aren't having to be distributed via a server, but there's no way you can convince me that this warrants a price tag that's 4 times the cost of the courses on the disk.

Everyone has their price point with matters like this and mine happens to be $5. However, I'm all for letting the free market take care of itself in establishing the price of these DLCs. If the price is too high, it won't be a matter of EA Sports being "greedy", it's more a matter of them being unwise in setting prices, to the point that they shoot themselves in the foot. If they don't get the target return on investment at $10 ea., I would expect them to either lower the prices or offer more attractive bundle pricing.

Thanks, and that's a very fair argument that I agree with. Especially your final paragraph where the market will dictate things in the end. I think most are probably in the same mind as yourself, that it's twice as much $$$ as it should be. We'll see what happens with TW12 DLC I guess? Bundles would be sweet!

The best way to send them a message that this price is too high is to withhold your $$. That will get their attention quicker than anything. It surprises me that the $7.50 DLC course price last year apparently turned out to be a price point on which they achieved their target return on investment. If not, we would have seen some markdowns later on in the season.

I agree with Onlooker..just do not buy it...i really do not even care if they release Augusta for that price..no way! Listen up..EA knows they can get some people to buy...as long as it's still out there...they r getting the buyers. Same as the ones who buy xp..clothes..clubs.....they can make money...that's what it's all about. Which is why I would love to see a third party make a freakin game...c'mon 2K!! Damn u! U have the Links ...use it!! ok..my rant is finished..sorry if i offended anyone..was not intended..:-)

If the chatter on the various forums is any indication, many people are not buying these courses. People could be buying them and just keeping quiet, but for many it seems they are not making the purchase.

In past years people would complain but ultimately many would still buy.

This year I would have to think they are not making as much money as they could at this price point.

I see both sides of the argument. On one hand, it is only $10 and if this course gives you hours of entertainment, that's great. I've been tempted myself, as I'm loving TW11 this year. I think EA did a great job with the game and it is a shame we have this issue.

On the other hand 3 DLC courses is 1/2 the price if a brand new game. I want to pick up Crackdown 2 next week for $60, or I can spend 1/2 that on 3 courses? Ouch.

That's really the crux of it for most gamers. You've got other games you need to budget for so it's all about choices.

For me personally, I'm not getting anything new until Madden in August lol.
