On the other hand, I'll most likely be playing TW11 until the TW12 demo comes out (just like I did this 10). Assuming all the hours I put into the game, $10 is very reasonable "bang for the buck" entertainment wise.

I paid $7 or whatever last year and bought every course. The price was steep, but then again I was playing TW10 (along with the extra courses) up until TW11 came out.

this stuff has me very close to contacting EA and seriously taking some sort of consumer stance here.

      seriously.

      10 bucks?
for stuff they darn well should be giving away for free.
      1) Is EA holding a gun to your head and making you buy courses?

      2) So EA is supposed to "give" users free courses regardless of the fact that each non-fantasy course takes many hours to create including laser-mapping the actual course and GPS mapping, not to mention quite a large investment in licensing fees for these courses. These courses cannot be compared to "free maps" you get in other games that have no licensing fees and the only development costs are the artwork and QA that goes into such maps. Not to mention many of the games offering free DLC sell FAR MORE copies of their games than a Golf game does.....the economics on free DLC work great when you outsell another game 10 or 20 to 1......

I agree that the pricing is too high, but calling it "criminal" is laughable at best IMO. If you had NO CHOICE, then I would agree with the "criminal" comment.....

Not to hijack the thread, but will Riveria be included in the online live tournaments? I have to admit I havent played it everyday but I haven't seen it with the rotation of courses. Actually I haven't seen any of the dlc on the live tournament part but again I haven't checked everyday.

I also think that the courses released for dlc lately are the "premium" courses that will cost the most and I can see when they start releasing courses like Bay Hill and Pinehurst that the price probably won't be as high. I guess its just wishful thinking but hopefully I'm right.

I have not seen DLC on live tournaments either. I don't know if Riviera will ever be there because the PS3 folks got a different pre-order course than 360. I don't know if they do different tournaments between PS3 and 360, but I doubt it. (I think the PS3 people got Doral as a pre-order course IIRC)

As soon as the course is available to the general public, it should be available for all Live tournaments as was all DLC courses in TW10....

I just don't know who they talked to who convinced them these courses would sell at 10 bucks a pop. You can't even use them in season mode and they think people are gonna pay top dollar for that? I really don't know where they're coming from on this. I'm not offended or angry like others--I'm just befuddled.

It's an idiotic price point that will leave the courses sitting there for hardly any one to enjoy. At the price they've chosen, everyone loses--the money-grabbers, the devs who want to see their hard work enjoyed, and the players who truly appreciate this stuff. And the fact that DLC never drops in price, means these courses will have been created for hardly any reason at all. They will sit there forever being played by a small handful of people. Like I said, idiotic. 3-5 bucks, and they'd be flying.

I don't have a problem at all with them charging for additional courses. Like you, I think the price IS extremely high but that really isn't my biggest issue with it.

As an offline only player, I hate that there is no use for these courses. Seems like such a waste. I know it probably isn't as simple as we make it seem, but I really wish they would give us the option to use these courses throughout our career. If that were the case, and the price were significantly lower, I would absolutely buy every course...

If they would have priced these things 3 for 10, or 4 bucks a pop or something, they'd be selling like crazy. Right now, they're just gonna be a waste of developer's hours for all intents and purposes. Not only are they not gonna reach their maximum potential in profits, they are not gonna be enjoyed by the majority of people who would truly appreciate them. All for the stupidity of a high price tag. Such is greed, I guess.
I could not agree with you more. The majority of people who would truly appreciate these courses are not going to have them. I for one paid for two courses last year's game and still felt ripped off. Lesson learned this year. I got suckered into buying a course once but never again.

As someone mentioned in a previous post the $10 price tag has actually made the decision very easy for me.

I wonder how this game is selling in comparison to TW 10.

Perhaps that is the reason for the inflated DLC price for TW 11.

DLC pricing was determined well before the game shipped.

Ok, I was just wondering why it was increased since last year.
