TW 11: Glitches I've Come Across

I've logged in a good deal of hours with this game since I got it for Father's Day last week. I'm really enjoying it, in spite of the facts that (a) it's not a whole lot different than TW 08, the last one I owned and (b)it's not gotten any closer to being a sim in those 3-years.

I've come across several glitches, and I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed these or experienced them:
    • I got 75 XP for a Hole-In-One that I didn't get. In fact, I wasn't even close.
    • In the Mike Weir 500-point skills challenge, I hit the ball into the water on #17 3 times (starting at the beginning of the event after I failed to win the challenge), and I never incurred any penalty strokes. I had to take my 2nd shot about 129 yards from behind some sort of marsh obstruction, but never was penalized.
    • This is the big one. After trying - and failing - to complete the 500-point Vijay Singh challenge, I was taken back to the 'My Skills' menu. I should've had about 1900 XP, including the points I just won on my failed attempt plus the remainder I had stored. Imagine my surprise when it said I had 22,391 XP stored up in my bank. That 22,931, coincidentally, was the amount of XP I had won over the course of my play. I couldn't get rid of them because of the Auto Save, so I used them up. I feel a little guilty about it.

Are you playing true aim on tour pro because I doubt anyone could say this is the same game sim wise as TW08.

I agree. I nowhere near good enough to play the True Aim yet. I wish they could somehow make the classic way of playing more sim.

        That makes no sense, whatsoever.

I'm just not a strong enough player to commit the time it takes to get good at the True Aim style. I wish that the game was less arcade-ish on classic style of play.

Maybe like taking away the aiming circle and the temptation to use Focus in Tour Pro mode play? I can't believe Focus is an option for any phase of the game in Tour Pro. It seems like an arcade "Power-up" to me!?

When Im just off the green trying to pitch onto it, the game pauses and stutters when I switch to my LW. Then the camera snaps to a funny angle and it stays that way untill I switch back to my SW or PW.

This happens every time. Xbox 360.

Anything that makes the game easier is actually just more of an arcade experience. You can't want it to be sim and want to use the arcade-like tools, too.

And what does do you mean by not strong enough. I've been shooting about a +15 in TrueAim, and I still use the meter to putt. That means the game has plenty of room for me to actually work on getting better.

It's okay to like the arcade aspect of TW. I've ben playing the challenges on beginner or amateur in order to build up some XP,and it is still a fun way to play the game. But I prefer my rounds to be on TrueAim. Later, onceI get my golfer built up, I will try to complete the challenges on TrueAim.

Seriously, there are hundreds if not more than a thousand of hours of gameplay left for me. This game has such a variety of settings that complaining about it not being sim enough is just silly. You can make it as hard or easy as you want. But you can't make it really hard, but also easy to play. That's nonsense.

Let's agree to disagree then move on.

My main point was the list glitches I listed.

I'm playing on tour pro and I can't use focus at all. No power swing and no spin after the shot. That has to be done with the right stick before I swing. I also can't draw/fade using the L1 and R1 buttons. I have to move the right stick left or right to get that type of shot.

You can only shrink the size of the aiming circle using focus on tour pro. If you want power boost, spin, putt previews, or any other arcade crap, then play on amateur. When you zoom out, you can either use R1 and L1 or use the shot stick to draw or fade the ball. Its available on all difficulty levels.

Accuracy is the only focus you can use in non-TrueAim TOUR Pro play. The rest of the arcade crap you mention is strictly for Beginner and Amateur modes.

I use true aim on tour pro which is why I can't adjust accuracy.
I really like the fact that any shot altering needs to be done with the shot stick, rather than wailing on a button while the ball is in flight.
I wasn't mentioning those arcadey things to sound like I wanted to use them.

I get totally opposite to your #3. At end of round, skills or whatever, it says I have earned maybe 450XP, then go to the skill assignment section and it has me at 410. Happens all the time, I always get gypped out of 30-50 xp. No idea why.

Posted a thread here about it a week ago, but no response.

I have this happen but many times its more than that.

I earned like 450 once and when I got to the skills screen, I was only credited for like 250
