Ham and swiss on rye snack can of pringles and a bottle of water. My laptop and cell phone. Oh wait that's not what you meant sorry

Are we talking in Tiger or real golf. I just started Tiger so I have the starting EA clubs and I sold my real clubs 5 years ago as I didn't have time to play. So of course I retire and now have plenty of time to play and don't have clubs.

That's what i figured. I just have a peculiar sense of humor. Any recomendations on a good starter set of clubs. I have been toying with the idea of picking it up again now that I have more time. Any input would be great.

            2 Iron Hybrid - Hippo Hex2
            Irons - 4-AW - Nike Ignite II
            Putter - Ram Memorial

The starter set I bought last year were Ram Memorials at Sports Authority. They felt good at first but they have quickly started to fall apart. I've pretty much pieced my set together over the past year and my game has improved with each addition.

My dad got a starter set of Walter Hagens at Dick's Sporting Goods. Seems like they got good reviews and he likes the way they feel. They're on sale now for $179 or so. Best bet is to go and swing a few sets and see what works best for you.

Ya, Ram is a great starter set for the novice golfer. They come fairly cheap but are still great set of clubs. I started on a women's set (I was 13 and men's were too tall). But yes don't go buy some Nike Forged Blades if you are just beginning or don't play but once a month.

I've got some Tour Craft clubs that I got as a starter set. They still work okay, except for the driver, which recently had it's face cave in at the driving range (right before I went to play a round). So now I need to find a new driver.

I got a used Callaway Big Bertha Driver online for $55. Seemed like a good deal to me, and I need a driver, so I pulled the trigger. I'm still quite terrible, and I've read that those are pretty forgiving, and it's got an 11* loft.

If it is an older one like the one pictured:

They are very forgiving, I actually have one, just don't use it anymore. And 11° loft for a driver is huge if you don't know golf. Most pros have 8.5° - 9.5° (I have 9.5°).

It's not that particular model, but it's pretty close. My old one (I caved it's face in) was 10.5, so it's not that much different. Everything I read said that new and high handicap golfers should go with high lofts, so I figured that'd be good for a while.

Driver: Callaway Big Bertha War Bird 9.5-deg (year after the one pictured...I think - either the next year's or the year after that...either way, almost identical)

Irons: Titleist 775CB forged blades (although they're blades in name only...blended cavity backed)
Wedges: Vokey 55-deg and old-beater sandie
Putter: my pop's 20-year-old flat blade that I will never ever give up because I'll never find anything that feels that natural to me
