I lost on the Japanese course to the sumo guy lv 3. Have not finished the tour yet (still on LV 2 on all the rest as I started trying to beat it w/o straight drives). Some of the fantasy courses are rough using the "draw/fade" technique.

Agreed although you dont have to have that dramatic of a wind change for the challenge.

I think you were referring to my post on leaving the attributes normal, except for the drive. Then you "create" a style of golfer. One that has a predominate "draw or fade" in his/her swing and go through the who round hitting each drive and approach with a "draw or fade".

Agree it helps to leave the swinging aid on at the first to get used to it. Also spend some time practicing your drives and approach shots, as you will have to get used to the new distance a shot will go hitting a fade or draw.

I have been using this method for a few days and it can keep you near par or over par until you get the hang of it.

interesting idea with the draw/fade.....im so terrible at those it could get ugly real quick LOL....if my current method proves too easy, ill definitely give your idea a shot.....all i know is as soon as i made those changes, i went to play a round of stroke play at Bethpage and i was scrambling the entire round, it was brutal, and yet i loved it LOL

cudos to you on the attribute idea, since i know now where the props belong......good call

Once you get the hang of it you will enjoy the challenge. Lot's of time in the practice mode will help... I finaly had to do something when I was doing the long drive senario and every drive landed on the thin white strip w/o any wind.

                  bdoughty,

i think ill give that a try this weekend, have to wait til then since i know its gonna take me a LONG time to get a handle on that kind of approach......i mi**** draws/fades WAY more often than i pull them off, its at least a 3/1 ratio of misses (that may be generous)

Re: for those looking to make TW04 challenging....

I like the idea of leaving the other attributes at default. I've got mine up to 75 except for Power which is higher (80 or 85) and my golfer is just doing too well.

So let's say I start a new character and leave all attributes at 10, except for Power. At what rating does Power accurately reflect the power distance of the average PGA player? Slugox, you said you thought yours was at 65. Is that what it's at, and is that about right for a reasonable distance with your clubs?

With everything else at 10 does the golfer still make decent shots most of the time?

I'd like to have my golfer be average enough to be in the pack, but be good enough to win my fair share.

                              DirtyDozen,

i have my power at 76, just verified it...which puts the Driver at 286 yards, which im satisfied with...cant reach ALL the par 5's this way, especially with wind etc..........also, i thought all attributes started at default of 10%? but most of mine are now at 20%, which may be due to equipemtn upgrades??

as for tournament competition, NOW it all depends on the course setup, when its windy and/or the greens are severe, i have a great challenge trying to stay "in the hunt"

one thing i can tell you to try to gauge how you like this setup is go to stroke play and give Bethpage a shot with no spin, gale force winds etc.......it was a truly evil experience for me LOL
