Links '04 - I'm prepared for the worst.

This game has been getting mixed previews. I've read things from bad ball physics, weak graphics, bare bones options, and choppy swing animations.

This is also a 1st generation title on the Xbox and we all know how that goes.

It's safe to assume that Links '05 will be the best golf title on the Xbox, but I'm not so sure about this years.

I play tiger with all the arcade cheats turned off and it's not too bad, with that sadi I also pre-ordered Links and was planning on trading in Tiger to pay the rest off.

    I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed too. This is the one title that I just can't wait for this year. I don't need it to be amazing, I just want it to be challenging. I want a 65 to be a great round, not a below average one.

From what I've seen in previews and gameplay movies, I can tell you that the graphics will not be "weak". Also, the swing animations don't look choppy. They're not the best animations in terms of a realistic golf swing, but they're not choppy. As far the game's options, they probably will be a little "bare-bones" compared to TW2004, but the one option it will have on the Xbox that TW2004 doesn't have is online play (with leagues and tourneys via XSN), and I think that option trumps the rest by a longshot. As for the ball-physics, that remains to be seen. Can't really tell from videos. From the videos I saw, I can say that it looked like drives don't get too much roll on the fairway. Also, every ball was hit dead straight, but I think the difficulty may have been on the absolute easiest setting. I say this because on the putting videos, it had the line showing the exact break of the putt.

Check out the movies and see for yourself.

                      Here is a good preview.

All of the previews I've read have said good things about Links.

There is a small review in the newest issue of play magazine and they give it an A. They also said it was the best console golf game they have ever played.
