You know, I'm sick of people telling me to make changes to a game to artificially make it appear harder. Telling me to play with a golfer whose attributes aren't jacked up is like telling me to play a football game using the Bengals.

We shouldn't have to do crap like this. The point of the game is to turn your guy into the best golfer he can be and that means increasing his attributes. I think my current guy is around 75% maxed and I'm hitting 380 yard drives. That's just stupid.

They should make the game have difficulty levels like Rookie, Pro, Superstar, or make the attribute points a whole lot harder to earn. This is exactly the same thing that happened to me last year with Tiger Woods 2003. Within two weeks I had maxed my guy out, unlocked everything, and the fun was gone.

Let me say this one more time....we SHOULD NOT have to try and artificially make the game a challenge...if you want to, that's your business, but I will use the resources given me to beat the game, which is the reason for playing it.

In regards to Links, it sounds like they have made the analog swing a bit more squirlly, which should make it more challenging to begin with. Not sure if you ever played Outlaw Golf, but it still is the only golf game that's ever handled the analog stick swing properly. I don't care how good you were, if your swing wasn't absolutely perfect, you would slice or hook the ball accordingly. I have no idea why developers can't use their engine and make a true simulation out of it.

I have to have high hopes for Links because once again, Tiger Woods is a joke.

While I whole-heartedly agree with you, try playing Tiger Woods 2004 on the PC and tell me it is easy. The difference between PC and console is like night and day! I actually play both also. PC when I am single player, and looking for a simulation, and console when my buddies are over and I just want to have fun...because they are just as good.

That's what I've been saying all along. I'm not disagreeing that Tiger Woods is easy. Trust me. I also don't think you should have to purposely keep your attributes low to get a challenge, but I guarantee you that Links will be easy as well. Outlaw golf is easy too. All console golf games are easy. That's the nature of the controller. PC games with mouse swings are much harder. Though, I think I'd rather have it easy than to have the system arbitrarily decide that my analog swing wasn't straight when it actually was. Seriously, how crooked do you really think you can make the analog stick go? It's not designed to have a huge range of motion when you're taking it back and forward again. A mouse, yeah. A controller, no.

What is so artificial about turning aids off? In real golf do you have grids on the putting green or a little button that you can push to get more power or spin? Just because you turn off the aids doesn't mean you're missing out on anything, and if you have to have a jacked up character, why don't you do what I'm doing? Make one character whose attributes you raise up so that you can complete the game/unlock everything, and then make one that you keep lower so that you can have more competitive tournaments. How is this any different than multiple skill levels on a football or basketball game? It seems like everyone expects a golf game to have perfect difficulty right out of the box. It's not going to--get used to it.

Read my reply a couple up. I would love to see the same thing, but I really don't think it's possible. Until you can hook a mouse up to a console or they come up with a different type of controller, I think we'll have to stick with PC golf games for the realism factor. Maybe I'll be wrong and Links will surprise.
