My suggestions.
1) I think a tourney should be spread over a week. It's hard to sometimes get games in on 4 back to back days. if we had an allotment of 2 days for every round that would make it easier to get games in.
2) Vary the conditions. I think there should always be championship tees and difficult pin placements. However, having 30mph winds every round is not realistic. I think their should be a mixture of windy, breezy and clear non windy days throughout the 4 days. There should at least be 2 really windy days but 4 is kind of odd. Mixing it up would be more fun.
3)I think we should create a season of sorts. We have 8 courses or so now with more on the way. I think that each course should be its own tourney and that their should be 4 majors.
For example Masters (at Oakmont) US Open (at any US course) British Open (at St. Andrews) PGA (at any U.S. course; Greywolf for example)
Create a money system to delve out money for the top 15. I will in fact volunteer to be in charge of it. That way we will be able to track average rounds per tourney, have a money list, etc.
You wouldn't have to participate in every tourney, just the ones you want too. Just like the real PGA. More money in major tourneys than non majors.
4) At the end of the year based on seeding from money lists have a match play tourney similar to the Anderson Consulting challenge.
5) I'm a web developer and create pages to post this information if someone has a site to host or I can just post results in this forum (more likely). It will be easy to track everything via a excel spreadsheet.
What are everyone's thoughts?
What are others suggestions. The OS LINKS tourney's have been fun to date, I just think they can become even more fun. If we could create a documented schedule of when events are going to be held as well more OSers will have a chance to join.
I think an Ideal time to start the tourney season would be in early january after the holiday madness cools down.
