Haha thanks . I will say my swing last night was golden.
I've been using that primo Nike set. I'll switch some things around for the good of us all.

I might try a practice round sometime with the experimental, or prototype clubs they have in there. You know, really high power but accuracy that's high risk/high reward. It'd be fun to boom one off the tee for 400 LOL.

That would really cut those Par 5's down even further.
I sometimes struggle to make it over 300 off the tee.

I've gotten tired of always being the low man on our driving averages during a round, so I recently made a few changes in my gear to address that.

I was in love with my PING driver, but decided to sacrifice it's solid power and very good accuracy to go with a Taylormade. It has a great power rating but the accuracy is down some...lower than the PING. I use Medium trajectory for my golfer, and set my driver's angle at 10 degrees as a slight compromise to combat wind.

I also made a similar switch from a Nike 3 wood to Taylormade 3 wood.

In addition, I switched the golf ball from Nike (85 power, 85 spin) to I think Top Flite (90+ power and much lower spin).

I leave the spin 'off' on everything for the CC anyway...but the ball's spin rating might still effect your natural backspin off wedges and irons if you strike under the ball more. Not sure. Anyway, it made sense to go with the longest ball.

After all that blathering.....LOL. Yes, I'm hitting it a little longer now. I'm definitely getting more drives over 300 yards than I was before. Control is still good with the Taylormade when I don't try to murder the ball, but there is a difference and I did put myself in a few awkward spots off the tee.

Sometimes even just winding up on the fairway but too far left or right can screw you for the second shot, and that happened at Banff last night.

Wow Banff was surprising yesterday. I started off -3 after three holes, then I got on the bogeycoaster and finished below that. Thought I'd catch Bork at the beginning though.

FLIGHT....man. I see you got 16 in, and then I guess you had a freeze? Sucks. Did you ever get your replay in last night? You were doing well.

Scorecard during the round showed you through 16, but your total yardage was similar to Bork's. Final scorecard after I submitted my score you weren't on it. So yeah....must have hung on you when you submitted it. You beat me, too...if it's any comfort

I agree with you, I noticed the Banff round was a bit glitchy. I kept expecting a freeze, actually, but it never happened.

I got a double bogey on one hole that it seemed like there was a cover on the cup, my putts should have dropped but wound up not going in. Had to four-putt. There was another hole or two where I had some mysterious putting weirdness too. Must have been a bad night for the server. My career round played flawlessly.

I've gotten real comfortable with my overall set up (which has worked obviously). But I probably should venture off my beaten path and try a different club/ball combination. I'll most likely look at some different options tonight before the daily tourney.

I did notice on one of the par 3's that my ball was on a pretty good line, but it kept going skyward like an aircraft taking off. I knew I didn't misjudge the distance that bad. It eventually came down on a weird angle. Still hit the green but something went askew while in flight.

THIS!!!!! It happened to me where it looked like the ball was starting coming back to earth only to launch to a new height. Lol. Weird stuff yesterday and to make matters worse we played my favorite course of them all. Wolf Creek is a close 2nd.

I lost at least 2/3 strokes due to the glitchiness that caused my swing to freeze for a split 2nd

-6 for me at Mission Hills today. Went with the experimental clubs from top to bottom and did surprisingly well. A few missed fairways but no major mis-hits all round. Missed numerous putts on the edge of the cup however.

Certainly have to shake the rust off here fellas. After being-1 thru the first 4 holes, I carded bogey on 4 of 5 to close the front here at Mission Hills. Loving the challenge here tho, if your shot isn't perfect you pay for it.

Happy to be hacking it around again in good olé Bushwood with you guys.
