Nice. Wish I could be out on the course. They're open, but I'm busy.

The wife's going kill me for dropping another $30 on this game...but looks like it must be done. Anyone have a spare room just in case?

Re: Xbox 360 OS Bushwood CC (TW14)

Shot a +20....which for me, is pretty good (amazingly enough, I am NOT in last).

Especially since one hole alone took me 9 strokes. I got in the trees and just could not get out of them.

Overall, my drives were ridiculously better.

My issue now is the lack of putt grid. I don't know if it is my eyes or my TV or both...but I just can't see any small breaks or hills at all. It just looks flat to me (other than the overall slant of left or right).

So not sure how I can work on something I just can't see. Obviously some people can putt fine, so I know it CAN be done.

Before you putt you obviously check how much the ball is above/below your feet. Most of the greens have same amount of brake the whole distance of your putt line. So when the ball is 1 degree low you want to aim 1 "notch" to the left.

You start to get feel for it when you check that sideslope everytime and adjust accordingly. Look carefully for any kind of differences in putting line, U should see bumps and dips there sometimes, although some doublebreaks are impossible to see in my opinion. Just remember that downhill putt breaks more and uphill putt breaks less...

Wouldn't the 1 degree of break equaling one notch change depending on the distance of the putt?

If I have a 20 foot putt with a 1 degree break, wouldn't I need to move more than one notch?

THIS is what I am having trouble with...I can sink the 5 foot putts (who can't?), but anything over that is almost an automatic 2 putt for me.

Yeah that's why I said "notch" instead of some amount of inches. Longer the putt, bigger the break. But also in longer putt the ball isn't breaking much early because it's traveling so fast. When it slows down it starts to break more.

1 degree break without up/down slope I would aim 2 inches outside the cup in 3-feet putt and in 20 footer it would be like a foot or tad more. But I also hit those short putts pretty hard, I put the aiming marker to 5-6 feet when I putt to a hole in 3 feet distance. If it's downhill i'm more careful...

Yes the longer the putt the degree becomes steeper. Also there COULD be 2nd break as you get closer.

I'm not a master outter by any means by I use 1.0 degree break as outside edge from around 3-5 ft out. Not sure if that makes sense or helps anything.

And I've always found that if I look at the putt and adjust accordingly quickly with my gut, THEN checking myself to make minor adjustments, I do bettering than looking 1st then over analyzing. Just food for thought.

As if the brick walls:banghead:, I mean trees, at Colonial aren't enough to deal with...is there any logical reason the gallery wants to stand in the way when trying to hit back onto the fairway? This is very poor design. Trying to hit out of the rough, under a tree only to hit a fan in the neck? Cmon EA.

The Sunday daily will be at Torrey Pines, it's the course closest to Easter Island.

it's funny, after last night's back nine collapse, i was heading on here tonight to post the exact same thing - i need to BEG for some putting tips. i REALLY miss the grid, and i feel like putting has just become a giant guess. i have no real clue about how much break there is - unlike when i could see the contours...

i have been putting my cursor on the hole, then scanning left and right to see if there is any change in elevation - but other than that, i feel pretty helpless. what else SHOULD i be doing? i feel like i can't "see" break without the grid...

i am a sim-style player - but i just don't get any feel for a green with what this videogame provides...

I REALLY like playing with you guys (again, wouldn't have bought TW this year if this CC wasn't going to exist).

But, the sim settings are just a bit much for me.

Hey, gotta hand it to EA though...when they said "sim", they meant it!

I am not going to say WHAT issues I have because I don't want this to turn in to a "you just need to practice more" conversation.

TONS of respect for you guys that can post good scores...I am and probably never will be one of them.

Hey, there are guys that can get a 40 kill streak on CoD and a 10 to 1 K/D ratio....again, I am not one of them and never will be. People have different levels of ability and mine as a gamer is average to below average. Again, good luck guys
