I hit some really bad shots in today's daily. Two water hazards on a single hole; luckily I was able to stop the bleeding somewhat with a Bogey on that one. Made another Bogey on the back due to branches hanging over my head that I couldn't see. Oak Hill is a cruel mistress.

Just shot a 59 with zoom 2 aim off and Hoff shot a 61. Like I said, I can play with it off and doesn't bother me. I'm thinking of CC as a whole and don't want those who don't like it to be punished

So basically you shoot the same whether it is on or off. If that is the case then I see no need to turn it off.

In real life, you depth of field is better and you can move around more, plus you have yardage markers and even more with courses that have GPS systems. The game just doesn't offer enough info with zoom off and the only reason is is a little more difficult is because you are playing blind, which isn't realistic. I'd be ok with zoom off if they offer just a little more info, like carry distances for hazards and bunkers.

Honestly, I've only tried a few rounds with zoom to aim off and didn't really like it. Hit less the half the fairways only because I couldn't see the fairway on most holes from the tee. That's not very realistic.

If we want to give it a shot, so be it but, my vote would be no for now. Then again, I was wrong about the green grids and have grown to like the game more with them off, maybe the same could happen with zoom to aim.

I think it is another week or 2 for the 360.

Is there room in the CC?

And can I jump wight in to the CC Toureys and compete without having to "Grind" my golfer to a certain level?

Would love to get going instantly...

Also, how is single player?

Some of your experience will carry over from last (if you played 13), but you are going to need to grind to get your player skills up. You will be able to play right away in the CC. I'm really enjoying the single player.

I screwed the pooch in the daily this morning. Cruising along at +3 to +4 then blew up late...

Finished +9 I think.

While our stats will be wiped out, since Hoff has been doing the scoring on his own, I see no need to actually start our FedEx stats over.

Edit: For those that had weekly tourney freezes, I change my mind to we should start over.

shooting -10 to -13 every round is just as unrealistic as shooting "blind" because of no zoom-to-aim. they are both unrealistic. calling one unrealistic while not acknowledging the other shows bias.

i don't know the correct answer to which setting is best. what i do know is that acknowledging that this is a video game and no matter how hard we try to make it real, it's still a game -- is a good beginning.

human nature/history says if we polled people here, the people who shoot very low every round would probably poll to mostly keep the settings as we have them.. and conversely, people who struggle would probably rather we adjusted a few settings.

i would prefer a setting that strives to keep scores that most closely resembles realistic real-life pro round scoring averages for the best players (this year, 71.44 is the per round average) -- whatever that setting is.

understanding the whole video game dilema -- for me, seeing -10 to -13 on almost every daily is just as disconcerting as any other unrealistic stat/setting/feature. they are all equal in my opinion. i feel it just depends on perspective as to which bothers you more.

for disclosure, i normally shoot under par and mostly finish tourneys in the top 10 in this cc.

I wouldn't mind seeing a 4 round event open to just those who have confirmed freezes worth maybe 50%. Or some ability to make up for lost points that are obviously out of their hands.

I don't know how many people have been hit. I can think of 3 just off the top of my head.

The worst part for me was that I got hit on the 4 round weekly. I wouldn't care as much if it was a daily but I lost out on an entire weekly.

The big concern would be whether or not the freezing issues are actually taken care of. There's no guarantee that we'll have a freeze free experience post patch. I expect better but would be shocked to be completely freeze free.

Man, playing the Daily right now at Oakhill. Out here with ragin poodle, SaveTheTurtles4, and goalie. Just want to say... Do you think they could add some more trees alongside the fairways?!? When I'm getting ready to tee off, I feel like Luke flying down the trench of the Death Star, and if I hit one of those trees, I'm toast.

If I continually see -10 to -13 in our tourneys I will probably just stop playing. No offense at all to the players that post those scores I just know I will never be able to get that high.

Well one way to up the difficulty without taking away zoom to aim would be put swing difficulty on expert instead of very hard. I play with it on expert in my season. If your off just a little bit you will be off in your approaches most of the time. Very hard swing makes it much easier to still hit the shots pretty close to where you are aiming even if your off.

So this is why I'm much more inconsistent in my career. Never realized that.
