Re: The Golf Club: Impressions Thread
Before you start the game, you can choose ghost balls from the best scores or from random scores. You're probably doing the former.Comment

Re: The Golf Club: Impressions Thread
That does seem weird - Stupid question but are you playing against the same 3 ghosts all the time?
Also, are you varying the courses (and level of difficulty) you are playing?
If you are playing on all easy courses then there is a high chance that the ghosts are going to score really low.
I can't remember the course names of the top of my head, but have you played the standard mountain course? Its pretty tough and that was where I was seeing ghosts who weren't playing that well.
Don't know what I'm doing because the interface is kind of clunky. I'll check it out. Thanks.Comment

Re: The Golf Club: Impressions Thread
Pick your friends ghosts instead of the top 3 scores ghosts. If you are playing the top scores ever recorded on the game of course you are gonna think the ghosts are crazy good.Comment

Re: The Golf Club: Impressions Thread
Just wanted to give some words of encouragement to those struggling with putting -- stick with it!
I, too, struggled with putting when I started. I mean, missing tap-in type struggles. I would leave putts short, miss them long, you name it. It took me a solid two days of playing and getting the rhythm down before I could consistently sink putts -- or at least feel confident in knowing that I wasn't likely to completely miss-hit one and could get everything close.
It sounds silly, but it really is all about getting a feel for the putter. I'm far from automatic on the greens, but I'm a lot better than I was when I started last week. It's a good thing, too, because now I can't hit anything straight off the tee.
Maybe we need to start a support group for this game because I know I could use a hug after some of the rounds I've shot.Comment

Re: The Golf Club: Impressions Thread
How have people found the course creator on x1 ? I found it so clunky and slow that I couldn't do anything with it.... I don't know how anyone would have the patience to create anything. When you look at how well it rang on the hb studio videos to how it runs on x1 there is no comparisonComment

No problem for me in the creator, i just need to get more familiar with the tools and where they are.Comment

One poster on The Golf Club's forum replied, "Scroll down the list and you will be able to play with anyone who has already played that particular course." So, for example there are only 25 or so gamers who have played Two Rivers Golf Club?Comment

And oh boy do I need my putting to be good, because I'm bad off the tee and my short game leaves a lot to be desired. I'm consistently shooting +10 or greater on any hard/hardest course.....reaching the point where I need to start reevaluating my game, maybe hitting some irons off the tee instead of looking for the distance every time (sort of like my real golf game).
Feel free to add me as a friend (Roycemm09).Comment

It shouldn't be. Try a hard reset. Mine was crazy slow when I first tried it, like 15-30 seconds for a change to populate. I did a hard reset and everything is pretty quick now.
The only thing that is hit or miss on my creator is the sculpt land, sometimes it shows fine and other times it shows a giant mess like 20ft high or low... I have to apply and then move the cursor away to see the effect.Comment

Re: The Golf Club: Impressions Thread
One thing I've noticed on my X1, is the left hand screen is slightly cutoff so that I can't see the very beginning of course name.
Has anyone seen that?
Also, I will say some of the text is really small especially trying to find the ghost players or when changing loft.
Overall, I like. It is very easy to pick up and the motion of the analog stick makes very intuitive sense.Comment
