Why? So he can get himself involved in a poorly-thought-out embezzlement or racketeering scheme?

I think Tiger has reached the point where he needs to see a sports psychologist maybe even a shrink. With all the crap he put his family through maybe he thinks he doesn't deserve to win anymore. Just a thought cause this is a shot player we're watching now and it is some sad $hit. Worse than watching Willie with the Mets.

I think our expectations are a little higher than what he expects of himself at this point. I also think a lot of it is having the need to validate his many swing changes. He has gone through so many, and got away from what made him successful. It's going to take time as he is slowly getting it back. We need to accept that. He played great in the previous tournament before The Open, but despite the failure to make the cut - I think it's a result that he needed to see for himself, to know where he stands. What may look like failure to us, is progress for him - and allows him to find what is, and what isn't ,working for his overall game.

I'll add my 2-cents to the "here's what Tiger should do" chorus that includes every major sports outfit and anyone that's ever reported on or written about golf...

I think he should take a sabbatical from golf. Just take a year or whatever, spend time with his family, relax, fish or whatever he likes to do that isn't golf (other than f'ing around with Navy Seal training), and see if he still wants to play competitive golf. Maybe he finds the burning desire just isn't there anymore, in which case just walk away - there's nothing left for him to prove in the game and it's all he's ever done since he was like 3 years old. He's got the rest of his life to live.

If, on the other hand, he finds that he actually does have a remaining hunger to go out an compete and be great again, he'll find that out about himself during his break and also have had time to clear his head, renew focus, and maybe make whatever amends he needs to in his personal and professional life to re-focus and commit to being great again. So either way, he has a good outcome.

What he shouldn't do, IMO, is just keep doing what he's doing now. He's turning himself into a sideshow, which is amazing to even say when taking about Tiger.

Lol, Tiger was PGA Tour Player of the year just two years ago and has not been consistently healthy since. Give him some time and I think he'll get back into contending for majors.

The guy is 40. Check the records of the greatest golfers of all time after they reached 40. It ain't pretty.

Well, Jack won 3 majors on or past the age of 40 but I do hear you.

Right, but Jack didn't have 3 major knee surgeries and a wonky back before age 39. And he was never at any point in his career as lost as Tiger is right now.

The media and his fans really need to give up on him! He was great and he had his time but it's over! They also need to stop acting like golf is going to die without Tiger. There are plenty of up and coming golfers in the PGA. Golf was here 1,000 years before Tiger and will be here 1,000 years after!

68/66 this week so far and tied for 2nd right now. Not counting him out anytime soon. IF he gets his game back like he is showing so far this week, he will be very relevant next year and will have a serious case of "I told you sum bitches not to write me off....."

I still need to see 4 solid rounds before I start getting excited again.

No disagreement. I also think he needs a Top 10 here and at the PGA.....but he is showing signs that it is coming together and that is GREAT fo the game of Golf.....
