Sorry, I have been away from the net for a few days so I'm catching up on this thread. Everything you say here is pretty valid. I understand that moving to a new engine takes time and effort. Where EA fails tho, is their recent trend of putting out games with barebones content and still charging 60 bucks. It's ridiculous. This game should be listed ar 20 dollars with the option to buy dlc upgrades as they come out. I'm sick of their greed.

Once they do all of free updates and add courses nd such then I think the game could be worth the $60 anyway.

It may not be worth it now but the $60 could be for the long run.

Besides, I'm sure having the PGA Tour license affects price as well.

These are all great points. And I think the last one is most important. People need to realize the time and money it takes for EA to get this. I am guessing that it takes tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars to get these licenses for each player or tournament. If you slap a $20 price tag on the game you are probably going to lose money in the end.

I'm going to be eventually put in the position of picking between the PS4 and XB1 versions of RMPGAT. I played the XB1 EA version and I'm little disappointed in the graininess and occasional blockiness of the textures. Do you see the same degree of "graininess" (for lack of a better term) in the PS4 version?

I don't have any scientific basis for this, but it looks to me like the XB1 version's native res might be 720p, and if so, I was thinking the PS4 version would likely be 900p. However, when you say 'way more clear and vibrant' on the PS4 version, I'm left to wonder if it might not even be 1080p? It doesn't look like EA Sports is going to be forthcoming on this until after both games are released on Tuesday, but I am very curious about it.

Finally, did you feel any difference in the swing interface between the two? I thought the XB1 version animated reasonably well, but as twitchingly sensitive as the current swing interface is, I'm thinking every additional frame per second one could get above 30 FPS would be a plus.

The ps4 version sure seems less grainy to me it still has a certain amount of graininess in the textures of the grass but I think it's intentional and doesn't look bad.there was no question to me that things look clearer. The golfers have a better sharpness and the colors seem crisper.

As far as swing improvements it's exactly the same and there's even a little lag when putting sometimes or in cut scenes which I also experienced on the x1. I would say I find the general swing technique better on the ps4 but it's most likely due to the fact I prefer the ds4 controller.

-2 after three rounds of the arnie tourney at Bay Hill only to completely collapse on the final day by shooting a +9 and finishing 7 over. Shake it off (f you t swift!) and the next week shoot a front 9 -3 at the fantastic royal troon. Bogey 10 and 11 and par out to sit in 10th after a -1 first round. Awesome stuff and is making me really focus on my shots. Too fast of forward swing has already bitten me a few times, sending the ball into the rough or water. That royal troon course really has some beautiful holes.

They have no choice but to come through. Otherwise, they lose money and the franchise.

They can't run and hide this time.

That's why the past is irrelevant at this point.

My reasoning too as well as Amazon discounting the game to $49.99 for Prime subscribers (or a little over $50 with tax if I went the Best Buy GCU route). It's a bit of a leap of faith, but EA supported UFC quite well post-launch and I'm hoping the same is true with this game.

Actually, yes it can.....they have had numerous patches to various versions of Tiger that impacted gameplay tremendously based on user feedback......

Have they added the ability to concede putts in match play? Seems like a next gen-ish feature.

I can cite multiple examples where this has happened, in my estimation. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2010 went from an average game, with spoon-fed putting, to the second best console video golf game of all time with its Meterless Precision Putting interface that was also fully proportional. I continue to marvel to this day at how good the putting feels and rewards the senses in that game. This option was added as a patch, as DivotMaker indicated earlier, in response to user feedback. In fact, I got a personal e-mail from one of the developers, thanking me for my persistence in beating the drum for that option.
