    Is this a paid article?
This game has not been updated in all of 2019.

It seems like a strange time for an article like this.

Yes. They all play and look great on my XBox One X. I'm not a fan of Predator 2 though... it's well crafted, but I'm too much of an old fart to get into the more over-the-top fantasy courses. There are plenty who are though, so the Predator course is definitely worth a mention

I'd have put Citi Links Tour in place of The Olmstead South Course, for a big city course, but they're both good courses. I'd have had to put Royal Portrush Open 2019 and Machrihan Dunes into my selections as well. There are more high quality courses coming out for this game right now than I can play. I can't believe how many incredibly talented course designers this community has!?

I think it's a product of the slow news cycle, particularly right now in the golf game market, where nobody has indicated anything remotely imminent.

Game is way too hard for casual golf gamers. Anyway to make it a little easier?

Have you tried playing it with the Beginner club set? I find it next to impossible to NOT hit the ball straight when using them. The putting is still probably tougher than most golf games even if you are using Beginner clubs. You don't get as much help with putts and short game in TGC 2019 as you do everywhere else with Beginner clubs.

                Play with beginner clubs.
                And actually play the game.
Why does everything have to be easy out of the box these days???
It’s that attitude that has ruined sports games.
Sorry if I’m salty but it’s true.
People cry for realism, then when they get it, it’s too hard!!... why can’t I just pick it up and play??
Look, this is a golf game. If it was easy everyone would quit playing. The game challenges you to get better. That’s a good thing!!

The predator 2 is not the actual one from the tiger woods series. The best recreation  I’ve seen is called predator gc tour. The same guy made emerald dragon too but I have not tried it.

It's a golf sim, not a golf game. You won't find swing meters, manual spin and stuffs like that to help you in there. If you're looking for a golf game, this is not for you. The studio designing the game was specific their target was to give a golf sim experience.

if anything the game needs to be harder...have you seen the ridiculous scores at the tops of the leaderboards?

                        What's really the difference?

You aren't swinging real clubs in TGC.

It's got the weird "loft box" and scenarios where somehow you can get more distance than should be possible with a given club. They've also tied in strange shot outcomes with different swing paths & tempo combinations. There are plenty of weird physics issues and shots that don't act like their real world counterparts would.

There's a lot about it "wrong" from a golf simulation standpoint. It's a game, just like others.

A swing meter doesn't make something a game any more than "not having it" makes one a simulator.

Most affordances like swing meters and grids are really about accessibility and using the strange interface of "staring at a 2d screen and using a game controller/mouse".

Yeah, it's nowhere nearly as over-the-top as Predator from the Tiger Woods series. It's still a bit beyond my reality/fantasy threshold though. Fantasy courses aren't always totally out of my grasp though... I did enjoy playing Central Park on Tiger Woods 2007 on the original XBox Box. There was a surrealistic quality about about it both visually and sonically.

I play in a lot of Society Tournaments on the XBox One version and I go out of my way to play these players who constantly post scores in the high 50's to low 60's, thinking they were cheating. They make almost every putt they look at, no matter how long they seem to be. I don't see any way that cheating or modding your controller can help you with putting? Yes, you can pull or push a putt in this game, but most of my misses result from misreading slopes and not thinking about what's going to happen if I miss my putt long.

These low scorers also have a knack for chipping in. The betters ones probably average a chip-in and a half per round. I played a Society round Thursday in which the leader shot a 56, while I was playing with his ghost ball. He made two, 35 foot plus chips, one for birdie and one for eagle, and sank at least three birdie putts of 25 feet or more. He did not miss a putt inside of 12 feet!? I played as good as I can play and shot 65, yet it didn't feel like I deserved to be playing in the same tournament this dude was playing in??

I play a lot of Battle Royale type games and I see a lot of aim-bots when I play. These could easily make putting super easy if you didn't have to read the greens. This would also make chipping easier as well. Not saying this is what's happening, but it could be possible.
