Like a previous poster said, this game will always have to be a pass for me until they have a 3 click swing option.

I really enjoyed watching streams throughout the day.  I liked what I saw and it seems like the game gives YOU the chance on how you want to challenge yourself.    2K games are known to have a lot of  customization and this seems to be right on par.   I normally don't play single player career modes and didn't think I would this game.   However, I do like what the mycareer mode offers.   Having a complete PGA roster minus a couple of the big names is a pleasant surprise.   I knew about the 15 PGA golfers but didn't realize the scoreboard would be filled with other PGA players.
Seeing other PGA players highlights in the middle of my round was definitely a huge plus in the presentation.   It's cool to hear the roar of the crowd while you are taking your shot then they cut to what just happened.  The only thing that bugged me was the player was taking an incorrect shot.  For instance I saw a player putting as his 1st shot.   Hopefully they can clean that up, but otherwise I was very satisfied with the game so far.   2 weeks will be a long 2 weeks.

Yeah, I think I'm finally going to get back into this since Hot Shots is the only other golf game I've played since the original TGC came out. Probably going PC for the eye candy that my new-ish graphics card can provide.

I'm going PS4 because that's the only system I own that this game is releasing on.

Why would anyone want to play 3 click golf anymore?
The Sega Genesis has been gone for decades lol
The stick is the ONLY way to play golf, as it should be.
I’m sure you can find plenty of 3 click golf games on your phone lol

                  Maybe they prefer it?

                  Perhaps it's an accessibility thing?

There has to some good rationale why it was still in Rory and PG has it (among others).

It'd be a nice option for 2k to put in, particularly since their whole vibe now is about "casting a wider and more accessible net" to capture as much golf audience as there might be out there.

It's funny...I switched to only playing 3-click at the end of my time with Rory McIlroy PGA Tour because it actually made the game harder. The analog controls in that game were quite easy to replicate time and time again, even on the harder difficulties, IMO.

You could really ramp up the difficulty with 3 click no doubt but HB ain't gonna do it. Besides with this new difficulty deal with the swing I think anyone who plays the game legit can find it hard enough.

No assists other than green grid, wind speed and the fastest timing for the 3-click for me, I only broke par a handful of times lol. That game could’ve been great if EA didn’t write it off so quickly. Only reason I stopped playing was lack of content.

I’m new to the franchise and wondering how, in career mode, the game handles the three majors (Masters, US Open, British Open) they don’t have licensed.

There are unlicensed major events in career mode. This is what they were in The Golf Club 2019:

                            Legends Championship - The Masters

                            Northwest Open - US Open

                            Royal Championship - The Open

Golf Club Championship - PGA Championship

They are played at fictional courses, which are ones created by users and picked by the developers as "Official" ones. No courses can be swapped out in career mode, so you are made to play the ones they put in the schedule.

Frustrating they aren't allow swapping - especially since they are actually using "user created" courses for those...

I think they are just protecting this as a "feature" to sell as future DLC.

I also think that they are planning on releasing more real life courses as DLC down the road, which will definitely not be free, that can be added into career mode.

So, for example, they'll add Pebble Beach and all the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am signage and structures for use in Career Mode. Let's say it's $10 for the course. So even though the amazing course designers can make a near identical Pebble Beach in the game's course creator suite, you'll still have to pony up the $10 to use it in Career Mode.
