Putting is no longer just about backswing and flick the stick up. It's backswing to gauge the distance, then throughswing to stay in the putt the entire time. If you flick, you're dead. If you push through and hold, it's similar to how you would keep your head still/down in real golf putting.

It's overall just brilliant what they've done. I'm of course using TST settings (Master difficulty, etc), but haven't made it past QSchool yet. Can't stop playing and trying to get better!

I was also going to add that I have missed a ton of putts from every distance, 2 feet to 30 feet and what I really like is everyone of them I can recognize I did something wrong. Be it too soft, too hard or deviating my up swing left or right. Honestly it's exactly how I feel in real life while putting and I think that's a great thing.

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me with this... I swear in the last game there was a setting that you could tell the game not to hold your preferred club or shot type prior to setting up for each shot?

does anyone know where I could find that where it doesn't preset your shot type at least don't mind them pulling a suggested club but I don't like that presets the type of shot I would like to hit I'm playing on Pro-Am right now with custom settings reducing the assists I wonder if it's only in legend mode or a higher than Pro-Am can someone advise please?

maybe I missed remembering but I could have sworn there was a way to turn that off before and I'm not seeing it thanks in advance

I believe you are speaking about caddie tips.
Not sure if there is an option for that in this game or not.

They set me up to pitch far too often from pretty far out and I prefer to set it to normal and take a higher lofted club and adjust myself from there

the True Shot message is extremely annoying. I've turned it off but it still always pops up and it won't let me shoot.

Other than that it always says I keep hitting "slow" shots and my ball is always slicing. Only played one round of golf, was doing well until I completely collapsed on the 16th hole hitting a quadruple bogey haha. It went water, Bunker, bunker, and triple putt.

I don't have the game yet but I saw a similar post on Reddit or in Steam discussions regarding True Shot. I'll summarize until I can find you the link with the quote from one of the devs:

I think I figured out the swing tempo. Don't "flick" the stick up, you have to push it forward and hold it. Hold it forward until it gives you the timing message. Since I have been doing this, I get perfect pretty regularly.

This game is awesome. I love having a challenging, but manageable golf game. Everytime there is an error, i know what i did. Great shots feel that much more rewarding.

Sorry if this has been mentioned, but not being able to save online presets is a huge miss!

When I set up a round online with friends (Private Match), every single time I have to change all of the settings. Conditions should have an option for Random and Difficulty settings should be able to be saved and loaded. I normally don’t like to complain much, but this is really a lot of work every time we play. I do a number generator for the random conditions (wind, weather, etc) and still have to set up all of the settings (20 options).

Game plays great and really enjoying it, but not sure how this could’ve passed QA!

Playing on the Switch and loving it so far. A couple things:
- no crowds
- playing with a pro controller on the TV is a bit easier than handheld to keep the swing line
- that said, PORTABLE GOLF!

I appreciate the lack of micro-transactions. Id like to see a ratings system in the future, like if i want to smack the ball like Bryson or if i want a short game like Reed, i want to be able to build my player my way.

Game is both fun and challenging. Swing calibrator has helped me quite a bit, but I'm still getting my timing down on swings to stop shanking shots.

Putting took a bit of time to get used to, but now, I'm putting with consistency and a feeling of having an idea of where's its going instead of just putting and hoping for the best..

Maybe a rhetorical question, but what does the swing calibrator do exactly? If you tend to come back right and follow through left it calibrates that as straight?

From my understanding and playing after calibrating, yes that is how it works.

I hit the ball more accurately after calibrating my swing. Prior I was shanking the hell out of the ball. While realistic to my actual real life golf game, it wasn't very fun.
