Folks at the TGC Tours forums are saying it's been removed. I guess Barstool Sports advertised a Society event there today...word probably got out to the Augusta folks. You might still be able to play it in your previous played course list, but it cannot be searched for.

Ridiculous for this to be removed, there is nothing infringing about created courses. The name is not included. Augusta does not have a claim to where some trees are being placed. I hope someone will reupload under a different name.

Both my tgctours approved courses are now ported over to 2k21. The Wyndgate CC and Madden's Turn. Two very different courses but both should be a solid challenge. Interested to see how different they play in the new game. Enjoy!

I am actually going to be entering the Rookie design content there as I have never actually submitted a course to them. I only even started messing around with the designer earlier this summer on TGC 2019.

I did add one additional rule to the opening post.

No autogen courses allowed. You must create from scratch.

Hope everyone is enjoying creating. I know I am. I am working on my course now and in the process of writing some notes on the one I will be doing for the contest I am entering. Though I can not start in game until September 1 for that one.

You can get Firethorn if it is on a friend's favorite list. I haven't done this in a while but I think I can figure it out. PS4 I am lhslancers3270. Send me a friend request and we can see if this works.

I am actually thinking of getting this on PC for this reason...course creation seems easier with a keyboard/mouse and also, courses that are 'removed' by 2K/HB may still be playable offline with certain 'workarounds' available on PC that are not available on consoles...

I can still play it as it's in my favorite course folder. I haven't tried to search it, but I'll give that a go. Somebody associated with Augusta National must have gotten wind of the Barstool Sports use of it and set the legal works in motion. Craig can always rename the course and republish it again... I wouldn't be surprised to see that happen. It looks fantastic in 2K21 though, so it's worth the trouble to get it!

One more thing on That Course...

If you have it in your played list, I think you can also set it as a course in a Society, and it's accessible to people who join that way, too. So maybe someone could set a society up, just to make this "Thorn" in our sides available...

Yeah it is a lot. I have scrolled some of the list previously. At least you can sort and search on it. I want to keep this thread separate from tgc tours though and focus on those creators who come here and may not necessarily go there. There will be some crossover I know but there are probably a lot of people who don't know about that site. I only just discovered that site a few weeks ago myself.

Starting work on a real course recreation of a track I am hoping to play this upcoming weekend: Madeline Island Golf Club in La Pointe, WI.

Madeline Island is the largest of the Apostle Islands, and is the only Apostle Island that is allowed to be commercially developed. Access to the island requires a 20 minute ferry ride that departs from Bayfield, WI on the mainland. The golf course is a Robert Trent Jones Sr. design, and opened for play in 1967.

It features an interesting layout that makes the most of the small plot of land that the course occupies - the entire island is just 14 miles long and 3 miles wide. For example, holes #6 and #15 share a fairway, and then split off into doglegs that head in the opposite directions. Many of the sprawling greens act as double greens for multiple holes as well. Seven of the holes feature stunning views of Lake Superior.

This will be a tricky design, and I hope to play the course this weekend to get a feel for what it looks like up close and in person. Hoping to be able to share this one out sometime soon!

My Madeline Island Golf Club real course recreation has been published!

It's a short course, coming in around 6300 yards from the blue tees, but it does have a few holes with tight, narrow fairways, as well as massive greens that are well protected by bunkers. Once you find the putting surface, you'll be greeted with medium-fast green speeds, but not too much in the way of undulation. It's a resort-type course that's designed more for enjoyment than for a real challenge.

As mentioned in the OS Golfer's thread, I have recently played this course, and it presents a unique experience - double greens are the norm here, and shared tees and fairways are also common. Only two holes (Nos. 7 and 16) are stand-alone holes that have their own tee, fairway, and green.

Par 5s are very reachable for any long hitter, so scoring should be low. But watch out for when that strong east wind blows in off of Lake Superior! You'll never know what scores you might put up!
