Would have already bought this game if not for the lack of solo society or customization for career mode. How are ya'll liking this option? Is there a way to play with tournament crowds on or any other presentation?

I remember when I was a younger man and had the sort of ambition and wherewithal to pursue something like this! I'm very impressed with the work you all are putting into this. It's a crying shame it couldn't somehow be fully integrated into the game. What you've got already sounds far more scientific and realistic than the offline career mode of TGC 2019!

I haven't tried this system yet, but I do know you can play local "play now" rounds with crowds on, and all the tournament environment items are also visible on-course when you play at the licensed courses in game. So even if you're outside of actual career mode, you still get to see the actual tourney signage, crowd seating and grandstands, etc.

Yea I've been doing all my rounds via Local Match and I can set the pins/conditions/tees etc round by round. There's obviously no leaderboard but if the designer set up crowds or its an official course, you'll see that stuff.

I've been making some small tweaks as I'm using this. The biggest thing is for rounds 3 and 4, being able to put your scores into the Hole by Hole tab and having the people near you in the standings scores unveil themselves as you go (for lack of a better term).

An example would be round 3, i started in 5th place so there were a couple groups behind me. I set it so the two guys ahead of me in the leaderboards had their +/- to par show up - so when i put in a score for hole 3 for example, their score as of hole 2 would show. Works pretty well!

Wondering if its worth sharing another version at this point. Maybe if I make some more signfiicant changes I can do that but doing so requires a bit of excel knowledge and bieng able to write the formulas to do what you want.

As others noted, crowds are there, and I personally find this deeper and more fun than the official career mode.

Going hole by hole is far too intense for me, though, as I've learned in the past that if I allow myself t get too far down a rabbit hole I end up doing more things for the game than playing the game, and right now I'm enjoying playing the game and improving at it.

Yea thats why I'm only going hole by hole if I'm in contention in round 3 or 4. Otherwise I'm just pulling in the full 18 hole scores and ignoring the hole by hole tab. It does get to be a bit much, especially if you're not in a close race with someone else

So what I typically do is instead of playing as myself, I’ll play as a real world golfer. Probably the leader or a big name in contention going for the win.

Would there be a way to not have a score generated for a certain golfer certain rounds or would that be a bit too complex?

It’s definitely possible but it’s not really something I can explain quickly/easily. You have to update a lot of the tabs and change some of the macros because right now they’re based on 299 real golfers plus you.

you might be able to kind of do a workaround by generating scores then going to the round by round tab and replacing his scores with your own. I’d have to try it out but I think that would work

It appears that just updating round by round scores each hole is the solution. Very easy, thanks

I just added a live leaderboard for Rounds 3 and 4. This will update the scores based on what hole you're on and what position you started the round in.

If anyone's interested in me sharing this, let me know and I'll post it with some updated instructions on how to use it. All you really need to do is paste the leaderboard after round 2 into one of the tabs, which will in turn generate tee times. The tee times are then used to determine when the scores show up.

For example, if you're in the middle of the pack in round 3, you won't see the leaders' score for hole 1 until you get to hole 5 or so. And the people behind you will be a couple holes ahead. I just used this for round 3 of a tournament and it all worked out as intended.

You got it. Just need to tidy things up a bit and write up some instructions so I’ll do it sometime tomorrow morning. It’s completely optional to use since it’s just looking at data in other tabs in the workbook.

The only issue I foresee for you is that it’s not going to work if you’re playing as a real golfer because the formulas are all based on you being golfer #300 on the list. It would require some adjustments in a few different places if you wanted to play as someone else

Yah I guess considering I usually only play as a player in one of the last groups I guess this isn’t too important to me now that I think of it but anything to make the game more realistic I’m all for

Question about points at the end of an event. Looks like top 85 players get points..but my leaderboard only has 70 players on it cause i deleted those who got cut, correct? So how do I get the other 15 their calculated points? Do I copy the missed cut players back on the post cut leaderboard?

The points go out to 85 spots in cases of ties (for example if you have 20 guys tied at T65, then you'd have 85 players make the cut). They aren't always all used. You just need to paste in the entire list and it will calculate the points for you, so most of the time there's points that aren't used for anything.

I'm going to post the updated file and instructions with the live leaderboard in a few mins here
