To be honest, I rarely go to publisher forums. They are all mostly toxic and terrible. Maybe in and out for a question, but not for any community.

Do they have a Discord? I think that is the way a lot of companies are going now, as it’s easier to moderate.

They gave up on the forum, that's all. I'm surprised it's still there, they were supposed to move to 2K... and never did. The last time I went there, it was the same handful writing wall of texts trying to prove who was more hardcore as a know-it-all golfer.

That and endless circles of arguing about what settings and styles of play make for a more "simulation" experience

I posted my newest PGA 2K21 course on HB's forums this past week (June 1, to be exact), in the "Course Discovery" thread...it has gotten 31 views up to now. Did the same at the TGCT forums, and that post/thread has gotten 535 views.

So, yeah...it's dead over there in HB forum land.

And the official PGA 2K21 forums at 2K were so heavily policed, that you couldn't even post certain things without getting sent into moderation and getting put in a time out. Any shared info HAD to come from an "official" source or whatever. It was a total waste.

Someone mentioned DLC for future courses in the EA forum and it got me thinking...

What if "PGA 2K23" ends up just being a DLC update to 2K21? I mean, if they stick to the same engine, why would they need to dedicate resources to an entirely new game? Perhaps they add some more courses and some Tiger Woods content, plus some new things in the designer or whatever. But they still keep the core of 2K21 in tact while they work on another game that would come out next year or something that would go full next gen?

IDK...they need to give some info here soon. I'm kind of over the old game now and am firing up L.A. Noire again for something different!

Luke Elvy did a radio interview today, and when talking about his plans for this year, he said "I'm still the voice of the PGA Golf video game, which is coming out in August" (!!)

I had to listen to it twice but it sure sounds like he said August. I saw this link and someone pointing it out of the pga2k thread on reddit. Here's a link to the interview, he says it shortly after 42:00

I sure hope he's right, but it really seems like a very short marketing/tease window since it's mid June now. If he's right, I'm sure he wasn't supposed to say anything about a release date! And, if true, we should start getting some info and hype on it very soon.

I think I've read somewhere that all of the Golf Club and 2k21 games came out in August. Just odd that we're in mid June and haven't heard anything. I've listed to that clip multiple times now, and unless I'm crazy, he says "coming out in August".

Seems to the thing the year with sports games announce it a little more than two months out. Madden did the same this year, after usually announcing around the draft. Probably in the next week or two would be my bet. More curious to see the tiger integration is going to be hopefully more than just the course designer.

I think there's every chance that it is coming at the same time of the year as 2K21, but the defections to LIV Golf have held up any announcements until they knew which players they'd be able to use.

Might end up being a low roster of real life Pros (playable or non-playable) at launch given a few that were in 2K21 that will now likely not be part of the game.

Could maybe be beefed up by post launch DLC

Just listened from the 40 minute mark on... he definitely says "August" as the release date after saying he's still the voice of PGA TOUR 2K. I take that as a confirmation of an August release. PGA TOUR 2K21 came out August 21, 2020. There does seem to be a growing trend of announcing games 2 months prior to release. I think it would be a great fit to announce this one the week of U.S. Open next week. In fact I'll be surprised if they don't have press release about it next week.

I can't lie... I'm stoked for it. I think they'll probably have improved the gameplay and taken more advantage of next-generation hardware with this one. I've pretty much given up any hope that they'll make a core chance to the swing interface, where swing path rather than swing tempo would be the determinate of hook/slice, and instead tempo would be the determinate of push/pull. I've played this counter-intuitive swing mechanic for almost two years now, and it still seems to be bass ackwards.

That post is old news, I believe. When that news came out months ago about the status of 2k scheduling for the quarter ending in March, most here assumed that meant March at the latest. We're hoping it comes out sooner obviously, and when Luke Elvy said "coming out in August" it kind of confirmed that it would be released well before March 23.

Not likely at this point that it's coming this month, but I'm still betting we get it before Christmas.
