Your comment made me go back an reconsider my thoughts on this. With the LIV/PGA situation getting more and more contentious with each passing day, I think you've got your finger on the hot button. The LIV seems to be luring more and more younger and upcoming players away from the PGA Tour. This is going to make potential contract and name, image, and likeness issues for anyone trying to make a PGA Tour licensed (and now LIV licensed) golf game.

If the LIV hadn't have come into existence this year, I think we'd be talking about screen shots and possibly gameplay preview videos of PGA TOUR 2K23 at this point. I'm truly deflated by it

They're important to YOU, not them. EA gave us Rory, 2K keep giving us leaderboards not working. And you think the details you mentioned is important to the mass audience, the casuals who have no idea any of that is all about or couldn't care less? Those casuals are their target audience, not us. If they would cater to customers like us, they would end up selling as many copies as Perfect Golf and TGC.

I'm not talking about what's important to ME ..

I'm talking about details of the offering -- at all -- from the perspective of the company they are competing with.

The details really do matter if you're the other company who will be fighting for customers with EA.

You insinuated that 2k "basically knows what the EA offering is"..

          How could they?
The general public doesn't know ..

Are you suggesting 2k has moles inside EA who know what 2k will be competing against?

I'm totally deflated by it also

I really do think that is the reason for the 2k game not being out on the schedule we'd all sort of anticipated (with good reason, based upon the past).

I'll try it one more time... HB/2K gave TGC2019 for free for one month on XBox. The casuals downloaded it, the majority of the reviews coming back said the game was crap. The swing and results were all over the place, there was no swing meter, a piece of junk they got rid of on their console almost right away.

Enter 2K21 and the first demo. There was a swing meter, the game has shot and putt previews, the guy made a 40+ putt easily. And on the next hole, made a hole in one. Custom difficulty setting. They sold over 2.5M copies. This was not for the nerds. Where do you think they got the putt previews from? Where do you think the societies are coming from? They're taking what's the most popular for casuals, some of the stuff from EA. I would be very surprised if EA is not coming back with the Country Club.

EA is going all in for career mode with all 4 Majors, that's their bread and butter and 2K knows it. And a great arcade mode with mid-air spin, battlefield, pirates, and canyon courses. And Frosbite engine, that's their competition.

Thank you for clarifying all that Kev

Maybe EA will steal some arcade stuff from 2k even?

None of that last part is confirmed at all though, outside of maybe mid air spin(Which you couldn’t do at Augusta in earlier game).

There’s been no word on the battlefield course or the Grand Canyon fantasy course.

I hope those courses stay in, but EA could easily cut them.

2K fully expect EA to have the arcade mode with all the trimming, why do you think they started to have funny hats and putter heads? It's certainly not to attract sims and nerds golf players.

2k needs to get the gameplay figured out first. The swing is so fast you can't even play partial shots. Don't think the putting is that good either, seems clunky to me. Don't get me started on the so called caddy either, the pitch shot is all it knows. On the PC you have no 3click either.

we golf gamers deserve better and why i think Sony and Microsoft should be pressured into making a full sports lineup, covering all the major sports. sick of these monopolies.

                        .

There you go for the differences. If you want to play 3click, you will have to buy EA but they won't make the game for PC, just on new gen consoles. If you want to play on PC, you will have to buy 2K, no other choice.

They started all of that well before it was known EA was developing a game.

And by that I don't mean the official announcement, they didn't start deleting created courses they knew EA were getting the rights to until much later.

You may end up to be right but right now you are just making things up without evidence to back it up.

I spent the last week off the grid on vacation, camping in the woods. Really hoped for some more solid info on a release during my time off...and *fart noise*.

The only "news" related to 2K's golf series is that TGCTours has basically announced that their next season on the tours will start on PGA 2K21. They would likely shorten the season and move to 2K23 when it comes out, but it seems that 2K21 will be hosting the biggest 2K golf community/society for the foreseeable future, so take from that what you will in terms of figuring out when a new 2K golf game will come out.

Well, I guess there is a bit more, but it's just a reiteration of already known info...another Take Two investor meeting happened today.

Shockingly, nothing has changed on the release date front. Still "Fiscal 2023", which ends at the end of March 2023.

This was the only mention of the game in the prepared remarks for the earnings call:

2K’s teams at Visual Concepts and HB Studios remain hard at work on their upcoming launches of WWE 2K23 and PGA TOUR 2K23. 2K will have more to share on these annual sports offerings shortly.
