One more, and probably the most important question for me...

Will this run on the Steam Deck? I can't imagine how awesome it will be having a great portable golf game, so I'm hoping against hope the PC version can be optimized to run on my steam deck.

Will the players represented by ghost balls in your group hit their shots according to the 'order of play' rules of golf? In every other game in the series, all of the ghost balls in the group are executed as soon as the tee is reached, or the new position of your ball on the course is rendered. It would be nice if the ghost ball shots could be ordered and executed according to the respective player's distance to the hole, just like real golf.

Pure golf questions:
- can I peg the ball in different spots on the tee box?
- will penalty drops be more realistic? Include yellow stakes? A lateral drop?
- will weather and wind be more variable? Perhaps offering different weather during a round?
- (asked before) Can a also flight the ball by the way I swing the stick? Cuts/draws can be accomplished different ways…
- Balls landing in divots during tournaments? Plugged lies in bunkers?
- Punch shots as a clickable option?
- More inherent “risk” with flop shots?

I have no idea but after seeing those graphics I do not see that as a problem. It really doesn't look like it's going to require much at all in the way of hardware.

And yes I am implying that I'm very disappointed in how it looks.

I said earlier that I will buy this game but my wife and I may end up playing the EA offering more because of created golfers not being able to couch coop together.

But the more I see of this game I am starting to doubt that I will buy it if that is the case. May just end up going with EA as our primary golf game and save my money.

That's only if they don't fix that though. If they do then I will definitely buy it because I know going over to EA's game is not going to make my wife too happy (she is used to 2K golf).

Anyways, really just thought i'd weigh in and see if anyone else besides me is pretty disappointed with the lackluster improvements to the game's aesthetics?

Online Improvements
- can you play 18 holes against random (non friends) players?
- can you see your opponents record before the match?

Oh and for the record, I'm 52. And some of you younger folks may not be aware that back in the day, the late 80's and 90's, golf videogames, specifically Links 386, was a way to really push hardware to the extreme!

I remember going to Microcenter and other computer stores and they would have these CRAZY golf games playing with just realistic as anything (for then) graphics.

So I put golf games at the TOP TIER of what you can do graphically. I've cut 2K golf a break because it always was so enjoyable.

But now, with them likely not addressing my issue (I'm cynical but I'd bet my next check on it not having couch co-op using created, career golfers) but now that the game has significant competition, well why should I have to?

It's shameful to me, and maybe I will be utterly shocked and wrong on launch day, that the PC graphics aren't vastly better with the hardware we have.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is proof of this and there's a LOT more going on with that game than a golf game.

ANyway, end of my old man "golf should have the absolute killer PC graphics" rant....

Still may buy it, but just am really letdown after waiting so long to see it, that it still looks largely the same, in other words, like a game made years ago..

Are there going to be more variants in tournaments during career mode, especially if we do 4 rounds? For example changes in weather and pin placement resulting in lower/higher scoring for that specific day. Will there be a change to the AI in career mode to reflect accurate scores and cut lines? I could never get the sliders to portray that. A more diverse leaderboard would also be nice so Tiger isn’t winning 16 tournaments a season as the cover athlete.

This thread is about questions for the 2K23 devs, and we don't have any real idea what EA will offer anyway as that game hasn't been shown at all yet. Probably not the best spot for this kind of discussion, given the guidelines offered by the mods.

And since people were complaining in the past about injecting one company's game into threads about the other company's game, this might not be a great idea.
