And aside from inserting the majors, just the fact that we can keep each season fresh by swapping our favorite created courses (and there are dozens out there that I just love and play often with a friend) will really make playing multiple Career Mode seasons more fun and less repetitive. Huge add in my opinion.

Re: PGA Tour 2K23 Preview - Tiger Goes Next Gen
Even if the majors need to stay as-is, that's still going to allow for a decent sized chunk of the schedule to be edited. And you can use whatever courses you want from the vast number of created tracks that will be out there. And you can switch them up every season, keeping things fresh.
This is a big thing for career mode, and means we aren't stuck playing the same 30 or so courses every single year...courses that were designed in the previous game and look stale as soon as the new game comes out.
I am still 100% shocked the PGA Tour even let them do this...Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 08-24-2022, 11:37 AM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Re: PGA Tour 2K23 Preview - Tiger Goes Next Gen
I don't know...the OS preview didn't specify anything other than the fact that:
"...official tournaments will stay where they are and can’t be changed, but you have the creative license to play around with the other tournaments that are not real and tweak them to your liking.
The 4 Majors will probably be 'official tournaments that can't be changed'. Anyway, I keep my expectation lower in this case. We will be able to put those XXXXX courses around those Majors to make it more realistic.Comment

Re: PGA Tour 2K23 Preview - Tiger Goes Next Gen
I am intrigued by the "tweak them to your liking" comment made in the OS preview...I wonder if that means we can rename the events, too, basically like solo societies all over again? That would be pretty great as well...giving the "non-official" events their actual names at their actual courses.

Re: PGA Tour 2K23 Preview - Tiger Goes Next Gen
I mean, there aren't any "majors" in 2k, but as you said, just being able to swap out non real tournaments with any course we want is just huge in so many ways to me. I stopped playing Career Mode months ago because of the ties, the leaderboards not working, but especially playing the same 15 courses over and over again. I probably played 2 dozen full seasons over the last 2 years. It's so great to be able to make each season different.Comment

Re: PGA Tour 2K23 Preview - Tiger Goes Next Gen
I cannot wait for this game now!
It’s fixed just about everything we wanted. Except for those damn drops.
Leaderboard still needs to be talked about so we don’t know it’s status yet.
Fingers crossed they took care of that.
Player progression and how that impacts societies sounds extremely promising! You could set your societies to have golfers at only a certain level, immediately making the field more balanced and even.
The news has been getting better each day now!
Cmon Oct.14! LolComment

Dammit! Lol
I posted duplicates. Tried to delete one and ended up deleting both lol
Player progression as it relates to societies is a huge addition!
Societies can lock in at certain levels ( presumably) making them much more balanced and even.
TGCTours should be very interesting going forward.Comment

Re: PGA Tour 2K23 Preview - Tiger Goes Next Gen
A lot of good and positive information coming out about this game. The improvements/fixes to career mode are extremely welcome.
Looking forward to teeing off on October 14thI can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: PGA Tour 2K23 Preview - Tiger Goes Next Gen
I’m liking most of what I’m seeing and hearing other than..
The last gen engine/graphics still (which we knew and expected), and the crazycanuck confirmation of it being quite “arcade” (forget his exact way of describing)
Looks like a pretty good update for 2K21 fansComment

I’m sure the same will apply for this game too.Comment

I’ve always put a lot of stock in what CC has said about this game/series
He’s extremely involved and obviously a big fan of it so sort of the opposite of biased against it or anything like thatComment

The boost system does sound arcade to me, not necessarily bad.

Re: PGA Tour 2K23 Preview - Tiger Goes Next Gen
I am wondering if he's referring to the archetype/skill tree stuff, in terms of "arcade". Since previous games in the series had everyone on basically an even playing field in terms of ability, and your created player had no specific attributes, adding in these skills and badges is more "arcade" in that sense.
But yeah, it was very interesting to hear him say that, and say it was a positive...Orbis Non SuficitComment

Re: PGA Tour 2K23 Preview - Tiger Goes Next Gen
Not trying to be a Debbie Downer here and if the ability to replace courses with created ones works as intended great... BUT
When you used to add certain courses in 2k19 on solo society due to handicap's on certain ones made the CPU unable to score well on them (Augusta clone springs to mind) where they would shoot over par each round.... fingers crossed this doesn't rear it's ugly headComment
