Yep...ugh.

And this 100% seems to confirm that you need to again be online always in order to play the "offline" career mode. That stinks.

In that same spirit, I wonder if you need to be offline in order to play the online mode?

Man, after reading thru this thread... I think I'm gonna cancel my pre-order and wait for EA golf in the spring.

Well, if you enjoyed 2k21 even with all of it's flaws, I'm still confident this will be a better game than that as long as the swing mechanics haven't been messed with too much. I think the point most of us have been making is that after 2 years, this isn't a huge upgrade. It definitely looks a bit better graphically, there's new courses, play as pros if you're into that, etc.

I'm buying it for sure, and will also buy EAs game.

Jim Gem 3 click on Pro difficulty. I assume all of these guys posting these gameplay videos have decent gaming rigs. All of the videos I have watched are on YouTube. Can I assume the game will look at least this good on my PS4 through a 1080p television?

I would say it will look close to this...the thing I am worried about is lag. In the last game, some courses would play fine on the next-gen consoles, but would have slowdown and stuttering on last-gen systems.

Also, interesting to see that Jim was able to get to level 23 in his 48-hour early access. Since you get a skill point at each level up, and there's a max of 50 skill points, I wonder if the level only goes up to 50 (it went up to 100 in 2K21)?

So does that mean he was able to get almost half way in just 48 hours of play? Or do you keep increasing in level after you get to level 50 and after you get the max number of skill points?

I enjoyed 2k21 but honestly the big thing for me in 2k23 is the LPGA players showing up in the FedEx Cup standings... That really ruins career mode for me.

Random question...I just pre ordered the game from Amazon, assuming it would be delivered on Oct 14 maybe the following day, but it said estimated delivery Oct 26?? Has anyone else noticed this?

I cancelled the order and I guess I'll just order it on the 14th, but I'm wondering if that's just an automated delivery date estimate and it will actually arrive on the 14th, which is what I'm hoping for. I don't care about the extra stuff that comes with pre ordering (if that's even still happening), I just want to get it on the 14th or the 15th.

I'm probably getting it digitally since I'll be out of town with my PS4 during launch...but if possible, you could just head to a local GameStop, Target, Walmart, Best Buy on the 14th. I know not everyone is near those stores, but that could always be an option if Amazon won't be able to deliver it around release.

Yea I thought about that, I live in the suburbs so all of those stores are close.

Another weird thing, on Walmart.com, it says delivering ON the 14th, but they don't list the PS5 version, only X Box and PS4. Makes me wonder if they haven't even made the PS5 version disc yet lol.

I'll probably just go digital on the 14th. Just seems weird, like they are still working on it and haven't actually pressed the discs yet lol

It's not good but I can live with it. What did kill immersion for me was one player winning virtually every tournament (ie Justin Thomas). That seems to have been fixed going by the early videos. I also hated the way the career stats were completely broken in 2k21. Not sure yet, but I'm hoping a better job has been done there too.
