Could you imagine if we go from "all these golf games!!" to "golf games mostly abandoned" all over again in just a couple years?

Yes, the one ace in the hole they have is the course creator, but that will also have to be rebuilt from scratch in a new platform. And in the unlikely chance that EA has one as well, game over for 2k for sure.

The funny thing is...2K/HB broke the course creator in PGA 2K23 when it launched and didn't get around to fixing the issues for almost month, keeping new courses from coming out until basically the last week or two.

Plus, they removed a lot of the user functionality for PC designers who use mouse and keyboard to design. Lots of the "big-name" designers out there are either taking a prolonged break from designing, or are possibly done with it completely. Any who are still active as they were before have said they are using 2K21 to design, as it's easier to work in there and then port over to 2K23.

Lastly, they added some new trees and a couple new items in there, but the assets available to use in terms of buildings and clubhouses are the exact same ones that have been in most if not all of the previous TGC/2K golf games. It's getting stale, too.

The one feature that truly sets the game apart from other golf series out there appears to be treated as a throwaway part of the game. It's sad.

Haha that's funny. I'm with you...I am often (correctly) accused of being overly positive and optimistic about life to a fault. Life's too short to have a negative, pessimistic view on everything.

And after all, we are talking about video games, so this is all meaningless conjecture. We're talking about leisure time and entertainment here. 2k has certainly given the world the 2 best playing golf games in history (sorry Tiger Woods series), and it's been fun, and still is. It's all good.

But it's taken until 2023 to really have something like we've never seen before. It's going to be fun. I hope EA kills it, and I hope 2k stays in the game and does the same. Rooting for both of them.

Figured I would give career one more go. The circle meter for power is balky sometimes it fills very quickly sometime it acts normally. The information on the click meter circle for setting the power is disappearing just an empty circle. This is similar to what happens to me when playing with the stick all the info in the HUD disappears all I have to do is press start hit circle and everything is everything.

So I'm on the 12th hole and I get this message pop top left of screen saying gameplay will be suspended in 15 minutes because my license cannot be verified. Managed to get the round in quickly but I just do not understand this lack of quality control at all.

Still unsuccessful at grabbing a PS5 this past week so until I am able to do that I guess I'll stumble along with this mess for a while longer.

Not a question of being negative just being realistic. Tiger has had no influence in this game whatsoever. I think that while this version is the best they have ever done they need to show they actually give a rip and fix all of the bugs.

It seems to me that the influence of Tiger Woods was basically getting some of the pros/celebs into the game, and some of the brands.

I mean, no games ever had Scotty Cameron in them - that includes the TW series of games from EA. So maybe there was some influence there?

But outside that, PGA 2K23 is basically 2K21 with some new trees, better lighting, and some new animations - oh, and Topgolf. Not sure how Tiger helped at all with any of that.

Depends on what you care about. I haven't touched Top Golf or played as a pro or Curry or Jordan. They didn't mo cap the golfers truly. The clubs are purely cosmetic as you know. Played half dozen rounds 3 click this morning not one single issue. Strange gotta be server issues.

So it has gotten to the point where I am forced to play 3 click. Not that I don't like it but I would have preferred to play with the swing stick. Even just playing casual matches my golfer refuses to get the club back on the backswing. What have they added that would cause this game to play as poorly as it does? They pushed Unity as far as it can go and judging by what they have put together here I am not confident they re willing to go for any real money to compete against EA. The new game comes out and kills the gameplay I think we are looking at all 2k is willing to do in the golf space. Interested to see what they do with their backyard football game if that ever releases.

Why not play without tempo? I found that solved the issue for me and I just upped the difficulty level and am enjoying the game more now.

I've done that before as well, it does make for a fun and challenging game, but it doesn't help for society or online matchmaking play obviously.

Play swing stick without Tempo? That's half the game. Tried swing stick again this morning the golfer can't even take the club back. Three or four tries to complete a backswing so at that point no chance to hit a decent shot.

Let's see. Can't play 3 click on career can't play swing stick in local matches. Maybe the fact the game was developed for last and current gen is the problem.

I know this sounds strange, but have you tried plugging in a headset to your controller? I had the same issue in PGA 2K21 when I played without a headset plugged in. Then, when I plugged in the headset, it played fine.

Makes no sense, but it worked for me in the last game.

This reminds me of an old joke a golf playing partner used to play on folks when out on the real course..

During a round, maybe before your tee shot or a putt, he'd casually ask something like: "before you pull the club back, are you breathing in or out?" or "do you keep most of your weight on your left foot or your right foot, particularly at impact?"

Total screwing with the mind...that always became a talking point and some laughs at "the 19th hole"

I know this sounds strange, but have you tried plugging in a headset to your controller? I had the same issue in PGA 2K21 when I played without a headset plugged in. Then, when I plugged in the headset, it played fine.

Makes no sense, but it worked for me in the last game.

No headset.

I don't know if it's the same for other consoles, but on PS4, the controller headset jack accepts any kind of headphones. So if you have any basic headphones with the standard cord input, you could try that.
