I'm on xbx and haven't had a single freeze or crash yet, so far.

I get very few crashes...some odd errors from time to time that kick me out of rounds. But I have seen PC course designers in particular struggle with lots of crashes in the course creator...someone over at TGCTours said their designer crashed over 200 times during the process of building their latest course!

The bigger issue for me on PS4 is disconnects from the servers, as I have probably mentioned ad nauseum at this point. But since the game relies so heavily on them, any disconnect is a major problem.

PS5 here, never a drop or crash once. Very odd. I know Arlington has been having connection problems especially in Ranked mode but luckily I've never had any issue at all with this game as far as the servers go.

Oddly enough we are both on the PS4. I have no problems like this on any other game and my internet is very stable.

Maybe it was just peak times for me...last Saturday was brutal, but playing a bit later last night, I had no issues losing the connection.

My internet also seems fine, so I don't think it's my connection...I will say that during my ranked session last night, the first 3 or so matches went fine, then I started a new one and the connection was slow and shot animations of my opponent were very laggy. So it may depend on the other person's connection, too?

It most certainly does. And maybe it's because I often play late at night or early morning, I end up with a lot of European, Australian, etc. opponents a lot. Who knows what connections are like around the world at any given time, but yes, if you don't have problems with other games then I would suspect it's the connection of your opponent more often than not.

Serious question here...

Playing Ranked 1v1 all weekend and the last 2 days. I've noticed a few players have what appears to be a tweak or "cheat" (?) in their swing. When they take practice swings it doesn't happen, but when they take their actual swing, whether drive, approach, or putt, the animation only pulls back maybe 1/4 of the swing path.

Doesn't matter what club or shot they choose. It really looks like something has been "installed" to make their shot more automated. Very short, awkward looking and definitely not how the game normally plays. And they always get great shots. Can't even come close to them.

What is this BS? Any ideas? Arlington?! haha

One time I played someone with that short swing and with pinpoint accuracy, and they had their mic on. I could hear the click...click...click on each shot. So I think that might indicate that they are playing 3-click swing? As the article here said about ranked, 3-Click is a bit easier, and I agree with that.

I can't say with certainty that all these situations would be this way, but that one I knew for sure the guy was using 3-Click.

3 click Pro is a joke. They need to allow for at least Master. Some aspects of 3 click are a bit easier some are harder. I think it evens out.

Just played what I assumed is a 3-clicker at Detroit Golf Club. Dead accurate off the tee, and was using consumable golf balls...330-yard carries with driver on every long hole. Always within 10 feet or so of the hole on the par-3s and approach shots. Took almost no time to aim his shots, either...that part was nice!

But he couldn't putt worth a crap.

He missed a birdie putt to stay 1 up on Hole 17, then started bashing his driver off the green and into the tournament objects!?!?! This went on for a while! Took the stroke limit on the hole, which I think was 12! The match went all squared to the 18th.

We both found the fairway and the green on Hole 18, and I was closer. He missed his birdie putt, and I nailed mine to win!

Most satisfying victory in ranked so far!

Pro 3 click and anything but default balls is pure cheese. Tough to miss shots on pro.

I've tried 3 click and could hit it 330 off the tee without consumable golf balls, but I'm at level 43. How many yards do those balls add? I've never wanted to go down that road.

Distance is also impacted by skills activated, your archetype, fittings you have applied, and if you overswing, too, along with any consumable golf balls you might be using.

I am at Level 50, and use the Rhythm archetype. My driver carries a default 100% power distance of 293, but it can go up to 307 or something if certain skills are activated. I have purple and orange/red fittings attached that focus on extra distance that allows me to get to that 293 number.

There is a consumable ball, the legendary Aviator I believe, that increases the Flight stat of the golf ball to 95. This adds basically almost 20 extra yards of in-air distance off the tee (as an added bonus, this ball also reduces the roll attribute to 5, which slows green speeds down significantly). So someone who uses the Powerhouse archetype, the legendary Aviator golf ball, is fitted out with power fittings, and uses 3-click (which allows the player to overswing up to 110% much easier than with the analog swing), can really move the ball out there.

I played someone who carried the ball over 360 on each drive, giving them total drives of 390-420.

So, perhaps the guy I played didn't have consumable golf balls attached, but he was overpowering his shots then, and/or was probably using a Powerhouse archetype.
