I know you can play quick mode without signing into the EA servers. The problem is I cannot even start EA's game without an internet connection, it won't launch, period. It's an issue for me because I don't have internet much of the year. I can play 2K golf without the internet and that's what I do, but not EA's game. Unfortunate because with EA's game I can play vs CPU opponents in quick mode, which would be good enough for me. And I wish 2K had that option. Anyway, I realize it's my issue and that none of this affects anyone else, everyone else in the world has internet 24/7 lol.

Oof...yeah, that sounds frustrating. To be honest, if I were in your spot, I'd go back to playing the Tiger Woods games of old and stick with those, as they'd offer much more content than you'd get out of either new game with no online connection.

But I guess my overall point was that both new golf games' reliance on server connectivity is so deep that you basically lose out on a vast majority of the game any time there's a disconnect or server issue. Being stuck playing only local/quick rounds is a shame, especially with 2K23, where having an essentially infinite number of courses to play is such a draw for it. Those user-made courses all disappear the moment the internet or the game servers go down.

The faces and player models are much better in 2k.

I just can't go along with this. After playing EA I go back to 2K and the players look like mannequins. All built the same.

after last playing 2k19 and still only with a ps4 i picked up 2k23 the other day...first round shot 77 (finished with 7 pars to end) at riviera with med difficulty playing the 3 click.

what course is the best augusta clone out there at the moment that hasnt been deleted?

after last playing 2k19 and still only with a ps4 i picked up 2k23 the other day...first round shot 77 (finished with 7 pars to end) at riviera with med difficulty playing the 3 click.

what course is the best augusta clone out there at the moment that hasnt been deleted?

Personally, I like "The Nolia 2018" the best...

...but don't tell anyone.

when i hit circle to get the overview of the course and move the aim spot around...that doesnt change where my golfer aims pre shot does it?

No. It simply shows you the distance to that spot from where you are, as well as the distance from that spot to the hole. It does not alter where you're aiming...it's strictly a yardage book.

You guys seem very knowledgeable about this game and I'm thinking of finally getting into golf gaming. Newegg is selling the standard edition for under $20. But there are deluxe and Tiger Woods editions, of course, each more expensive. Can I get the created courses for the standard edition? I don't really care about clothes, etc.

You get all the courses, no matter the version you pick up. For $20, the standard version is a pretty good deal. You honestly don't get much with the TW or Deluxe editions.

Those premium versions are only worth it if you want dual-gen entitlement (meaning you're getting the last-gen and next-gen versions of the game all in one) or if you want to play as Michael Jordan.

Personally, I'd go for the standard edition for $20.

hey guys what putting setting do i need to use where the aim point is right at the hole and i move it forward and back for elevation changes myself?

right now when i have an uphill putt the meter is already behind it and i thought i had switched something but elevation doesnt seem to matter.

I don't think you can change that. I believe the aim marker will always be automatically adjusted a bit for elevation before a putt. I cannot find any setting in 2K23 that changes the default putt aiming whatsoever.

This. Barring the elevation change isn't something crazy like a steep drop or climb on the green, the marker auto adjusts and will be perfect distance. I swear there is a setting for this, but I don't think it works properly, or I'm completely off my rocker and mis-remembering
