Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions
One that seems relevant is "Pro Vision: Elevation". I have had that turned off since the game came out. Having it off forces you to take elevation into account when setting up your shot. This works when playing shots from off the green, but I still get an automatic marker setup when putting.
There is no specific Putt Aim setting in the Difficulty setting menu.
There is nothing related to putt aiming in display & HUD settings, either.
The only other setting that could be involved here is "Distance Control Assist". But that one says it's related to limiting the backswing based on intended distance, adding the overswing zone to partials. When that's off, it allows for a full back swing to be performed, regardless of intent. I tested it on a putting course I made. I turned Distance Control Assist off for it, and still got all the putts set up for me automatically...a 2 foot uphill putt had me auto aimed 27 feet past the cup.
So yeah, unless it's hidden in another setting or menu that I haven't found yet, I cannot see a way to change that. And watching some videos of guys playing TGCT, they all seem to get auto-aimed on the greens as well. I would assume TGCT, especially in Pro Tours and True Sim, would force players to aim for themselves.
If you do find it, though, please share!Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 05-03-2023, 02:43 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

How can I tell how far uphill or downhill the hole/flag is from where I am shooting?Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions
That shows the elevation from where you are, to where your marker is aimed. So if you aim it right at the flag, you'll see how far uphill or downhill the flag is from you. In this example, the area the aiming marker is placed is 1 foot uphill from the player.
On certain societies, like TGCTours, they have that info moved off the marker. You can still view it in that case by going to the Display & HUD settings > Distance Info Position > Set to "In HUD". This will let you see elevation information from your current position to the pin. It will show up in the area of the screen in the upper right, underneath where your club selection info and lie range info is.
In TGCTours, if you have this set to "Off" or "On Marker" you will not see elevation information at all.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 05-03-2023, 08:11 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions
At default, that information is shown right next to your aiming marker. Here's what it looks like when playing default settings in ranked matchmaking:

In Q School right now and in local offline casual play it still doesn't show me elevation with feet or inches but I can clearly see it in your screenshot. Must be an online play feature? But that doesn't really make sense either.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions
It should be visible at any point. I'd check your "Distance Info Position" in the Display & HUD settings to see if it's set to "On Marker" or "In HUD". I have mine set to "In HUD" and I can see it when I play any rounds - local, career, online, societies, etc.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions
I tried your suggestion but I didn't work to add the elevation metric to the HUB...however I finally found the setting that controls the elevation display specifically.
It's under "difficulty" that you have to disable "Pro Vision:Elevation" in order to see feet and inch elevation from your shooting point.

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions
So idk if it was the course or not. But I had SIGNIFICANT lie penalties at Bay Hill in Q school. I do not have any skill points used on approach recovery which plays some part I'm sure. But I've played with recovery at 0 a lot and never noticed being penalized that much. Just normal rough I was in the 35-45% range with 4 and 5 irons. I was forced to use a wedge once to lay up even.

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions
It’s not an online exclusive feature - I have it in offline play so it’s a settings issue.

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions
Been enjoying this and took advice around here to start with Pro-Am. Turning most all of the visual aids off .... is there a way to set up an online game like that? Seems like the default online stuff as all of the visual bells and whistles.Comment

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions
If you're playing a private match with someone, you might be able to set things the way you want, but I have never tried that so I don't know for sure. But for things like ranked matchmaking, you're stuck with the default difficulty they set it to.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions
There are some things you can turn off for online play that are under your personal visual settings (things like the swing meter and such). However, any difficulty settings for online play are set to default "Pro" and you cannot change them.

I've watched private matches on YouTube and the they play Master no aids at all with green grids off. No zoom cam no nothing.
