Re: PGA Tour 2K23 Patch 1.06 Adds Torrey Pines North and South Courses and More - Pat
So I skipped ahead to my next MyCareer season to see how Torrey Pines gets included in the schedule.
The Farmers Insurance Open is placed in Week 7 of the season. But it seems only Torrey Pines South is used in the event, not Torrey Pines North. The event listing just says "Torrey Pines South". In reality, players split the first 36 holes between the North and South Courses, then play the final 36 holes on the South Course.
I did notice that the Torrey Pines North course has been added to the curated list of courses that can be swapped into the career mode schedule. However, Torrey Pines South has not been added for some reason.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 12-07-2022, 02:16 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Just double checked this. Set my tournament rounds to 4, played round one at the South Course, and round 2 shows that it will also be at the South Course. So it doesn't seem like they have the Farmers Insurance Open set up like it really is. Bummer...why even add the North Course to the game then? Just seems like a waste.
Is this tourney added to the schedule as a +1? Or does it replace something else?

Official update on the changes to the fittings:
This is a bit disconcerting...it seems they are simply guessing at this point as to how they want the game to play? Throwing some things against the wall and seeing if it sticks?Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 12-07-2022, 03:34 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Thanks AB. Hopefully that turns in to 32 when Pebble Beach drops.

In career, I setup the major tournaments for 2 rounds. During my second round of the Legends tourney, after every hole the leaderboard only displayed the scores from the end of the first round. Also, on most of the holes, I got audio commentary talking about how great I was doing, especially since it's "still the first round". LOLComment

I do like that we can still use the North Course in other events, but then Torrey Pines South isn't included in that curated list??? Just some odd decisions that feel like they're going only half-way on these additions and can't be bothered to do the few additional steps to really make the game as good or immersive as it could be.
Plus, this also seems to mean that Pebble Beach will likely be the solo host of the AT&T Pro-Am, and Spyglass Hill will also be reduced to just a course you can add in to other events when they get released at some point. Also, I'd imagine that Pebble will not be in that curated list, either, just like Torrey South.Orbis Non SuficitComment

It's still just odd to me that they're paying for Torrey Pines North and South to be in the game, but can't use the courses properly in the career mode.

Is it not plausible that the game doesn't have the ability to have two separate courses for one event....?
I'm just stoked to have those courses in the game.St. Louis Cardinals | Milwaukee Bucks | Los Angeles Rams

I'm glad they're in the game, too. And I'm glad that you can swap the North Course in at all.
When they announced the Torrey Pines North and South courses together, along with Pebble and Spyglass, my assumption was that these courses would be used as they are in real life. It's just a bit disappointing to see that these events don't mimic how they work on the real PGA Tour, when they have the rights to the courses to do so.Orbis Non SuficitComment
