For sure...that's the million dollar question! But it's impossible to ignore how out of date the visuals look in 2K23, and that if they stay the course they're on, they're going to be left behind.Orbis Non SuficitComment

True but for me it's all about the actual on course gameplay and ea is going to have to go some to top 2k.Comment

That said...when the visuals are THIS different, and the course is not even presented as it is in real life (looking at you, rock cliffs on 2K's Hole 8), it really is an issue.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Re: Pebble Beach Golf Links Available Now in PGA Tour 2K23
I was going to share thoughts on playing at Pebble Beach after a couple of rounds but then thought, what's the point?
There's no discussion to be had. It will just be muted out by those who want everyone to know that EA's version will look better and the insults of the dev team.
Shame, really thought we were going to be able to discuss playing two golf games this year.
*goes back to playing and enjoying the game for what it provides*I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I think having an official 2K version of Pebble is great. We can play it in career mode now, and have the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
But it's hard to turn a blind eye to the sloppy, and seemingly rushed work that's been done on one of the most iconic and easily recognized golf courses in the world.
I mean, there are at least two better versions of the course in 2K23 already, done by users. That's the frustrating part.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 02-02-2023, 11:44 AM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Re: Pebble Beach Golf Links Available Now in PGA Tour 2K23
This is the real issue.
The EA version isn’t even needed in the discussion here.
2k have better versions being made by their own customer base.
It’s amazing they haven’t pulled in some of those folks or at least purchased/used their versions as the base.Comment

Re: Pebble Beach Golf Links Available Now in PGA Tour 2K23
2K/HB are really starting to alienate the design community. They actually "fixed" a trick that allowed course creators to get flat-bottom bunkers easily with this last patch, even though their NextMaker course designers asked them not to! And still, there have been no new additions to the course creator, and then official courses like this drop, that really make it seem like they don't put the effort into their product...even though they have the people around them to make sure a course like Pebble would be up to snuff.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 02-02-2023, 12:02 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Re: Pebble Beach Golf Links Available Now in PGA Tour 2K23
I'm not sure how much more 2k could have done with unity regarding graphics. Anyhow when I play I'm not really interested in boats in the water or whether rocks are spot on. I understand though that too many it is a big deal. Call me "hoping for the best expecting the worst", lol.Comment
