Finally got around to playing it this week... It was Pebble Beach by layout only... Nothing about playing it made me feel like the actual Pebble Beach, everything feels so... lifeless? I don't know, can't describe it. Think I'm just over the unity engine, you can only make the courses look so good on such an ancient game engine...

Also felt ridiculously easy? Shot something like a 9 or 10 under with at least two eagles... I don't know, this was really the last saving grace for this game and they blew it. I'll still play it with friends when we wanna get a round in but man, it was a disappointing experience

The problem is two fold. They developed the game for last gen so graphics are gonna suffer. Second it is not the engine it is the artists working with the engine. They need more good people but 2k is not gonna give this game much love just face it. It does a lot of things well a lot not good at all.

As far as most of these official courses go as far as I am concerned they do not even exist.

Im pretty sure they did this in Hot Shots Golf Out Of Bounds. I remember the CPU opponent standing near their ball with their caddy and their head would follow your shot in the air. Not just on the tee box but throughout the entire course.

Yeah, right you are! I remember that now. It was kind of unconvential, because they'd go tearing off down the fairway like the tasmanian devil when you were done, but it was nice to see them standing there for a while, as if they were paying attention to what was going on.

Hot Shots Golf is one of the more underrated sports games of all time… fun, silly, but challenging at times and a nice representation of golf.

I thought so as well. I think it was the last one they made for the PS3 (World Invitational?) that had a real time swing interface which the last half of the backswing meter didn't give you any scaled feedback on where your club was. You had to go more on your intuition for the backswing length and it was happening in real time. I liked that less clinical interface so much better, but then they turned right around and dropped that in the latest "Everybody's Golf"?? It seemed like such a step backwards...

The stranger part is that it took an update to fix something so glaring ... on a course they announced like 4-5 months ago. Just odd..

Someone needs to be let go for even letting this release. Does 2k have to be told how bad it looks before they change it? Still the 3rd best version of Pebble available.

I am shocked by some of the work done on a few of these official tracks, since 2K/HB actually hired a well-known and well-respected community designer to be a part of the team in the lead up to the release of 2K23.

Where is Spyglass? Wasn't that going to be released as well? I would have thought this would be the time for that course as well.

Their roadmap says it's coming in Season 3, as is Pinehurst No. 2.
