Re: EA Sports PGA Tour Interview with Development Team - It's All About Gameplay
Plus, I play my golf games with my older Uncle and I have to coordinate what we'll play on, since there is no CrossPlay. He currently has no console and his PC will need an upgrade to play EA golf -- sort of a mess here.
As it stands now, I'll probably be swallowing the lower fps and just going console. I'm sort of intrigued by PSVR2 on GT7..Comment

It's not a money thing, but rather that I'd hoped to be done with PC gaming (moving and life is in a spin right now) and just down to my MacBook + console.

Good link ...
I still really hope they offer a performance mode or two (if able) on consoles.
Could it really be possible that a PS5/XBSX can't run the new game at 1080p/60fps?
(I would hope for 1440p/60fps as a mode)Last edited by scagwi; 02-12-2023, 02:01 PM.Comment

Re: EA Sports PGA Tour Interview with Development Team - It's All About Gameplay
I don’t know the technicalities for EA to be able to achieve 60 fps with reduced resolution but I was interested in the section of the article that mentions adding 120 Hz support can effectively give you a performance boost to 40 fps if you have a capable display. Do other EA games support 120 Hz…?Comment

Similar pickle here, only friend I know who will get it is on PC. Money not a concern here either so I may just get both or make another gaming PC [emoji12]

x-post from EA forum
Let's just hope this is more like TW14 (and other TW games) than Rory
I've never played such an easy and boring golf game as Rory was
It was almost like the game played for you and you just flicked the stick.
In Rory, it seems they never programmed any variance to the shot.
No room for error.
Just perfect shots.
Seriously - anyone who still has Rory.
Go fire it up and don't even aim.. just swing..
You'll be shocked how well you score, even on the HIGHEST difficulty settings possible, by doing absolutely nothing other than swinging whatever the preset shot/aim is all the time.
Why move the aim marker or even think about the shot, when the game will already get you inside 10 feet automatically?
Hopefully the new game at least has tempo to it somehowLast edited by scagwi; 02-13-2023, 04:51 PM.Comment

Rory on advanced setting has tempo, it's just that the misses are randomly left or right. It doesn't make sense. On normal setting, you're absolutely right... just like the 2K game without tempo.Comment

Re: EA Sports PGA Tour Interview with Development Team - It's All About Gameplay
When I had Rory still, I did everything I could to make it as challenging as possible .. and it was just so bloody easy -- to the point of ruining the game and being boring.
Your point about the randomness that was non-sensical is a good one.
I hated that ... don't just make a miss go "somewhere bad" with no rationale for why/where..Comment

If you’re off plane it can nullify the tempo penalty & bring the ball back on target.
Like a slow swing left of plane would fly straight at the target & same for a fast swings right of plane.Comment

I’m sure Rory was measuring short swing & over swing, if you swing short downswing tempo had to be slower for perfect & if you over swing you had to speed up the down swing. If tempo was slow the ball went right & fast the ball went left.

It just made more people quit and start playing The Golf Club with their thousands of courses... with their nice devs weekly communicating with their members. How have time changed since then.
And oh, EA decided to stop making golf games.Last edited by bigkev; 02-13-2023, 10:11 PM.Comment
