That quote could be referring to the Michigan Golf Live video.

Then, another person in chat said, "I saw that same video (or one similar), it was a reporter who was told by a dev playing the game, that it's the "best playing golf game ever". No bias there at all."

Michigan Golf Live video did not show a dev playing the game at all, so I think that was referring to something totally different.
That's what I heard. I really wouldn't put too much credence in one person's opinion about a game that hasn't released and one of which we have seen no game play footage of any importance. If you listened to the stream you would have heard other things the guy said which point out some possible problems. I hope the game is great but I for one do not trust this company to deliver. My opinion. Let's see what is what when it releases.

Good link and video -- lots of gameplay clips in there

      Two thoughts.

      1. Just about every single swing was perfectly up and down (too easy)

      2. Man was that a stutter fest -- good god I hope the game is smoother than these clips of it.

Most of that video is the gameplay trailer, verbatim, that EA released a few weeks ago.

To be fair, the host of that Michigan Golf Live show said he did see it in person for an hour, and got to play the game for 15 minutes. That's obviously not a ton of time, but he's got more to go off of than many others do.

I have to think it's playing smoothly (vs the video clips from the trailer) or folks wouldn't be so high on it -- right?

Who knows, but they keep using Madden to try to sell this game, so...

That's honestly one of the more concerning/odd things about this golf game. Why is Madden a part of this? Just kind of strange.

The Madden cross promotion is just such a nothing burger

That season ends in 2 days -- it's giving away something that, I think, has zero value.

If it were for a Madden 24 code .. or for NHL 23...or FIFA or something, maybe it'd be interesting...but not a throwaway code for an old game

And why so much talk about that from EA?
                Who cares about Madden

It will probably be in the ea play vault by then too.

Yeah, focusing on the Madden portion is really weird. I get why they’re giving it away, it’s an added game that by all accounts wasn’t that great so it’s not a loss to them at all, but why focus your marketing on it? Anybody interested in Madden got it months ago… definitely concerning that it’s being peddled so hard as if anybody would buy a 110 dollar game JUST to get Madden as a bonus?

Is there really a ton of overlap between the Madden audience and those excited for the return of EA Golf.

Both customers like "sports" I guess?

                          I can't believe the consoles don't have a 1080p/60fps mode

Maybe they do and they just haven't clarified that?
Well, they've had more than ample opportunity to speak to it in the General Discussion thread in the official EA Sports PGA TOUR thread. The top thread in this section of the forum, by a factor of 4, and they still haven't spoken to it. There are about a half dozen threads asking fat pitch questions which have all been answered. I just think they don't like the answer they'll have to give this one if they speak to it. Here's a link to the thread if you're interested:

I'd like to know if there will be a performance option for the console versions of EA Sports PGA TOUR, in which it would be possible to play the game at 60 FPS? - 8330681

Imagine if playing Augusta requires an online connection...

I could totally see something like that happening so that the license holder could remote nuke the IP when they want/when a license expires.

No "play it forever" like you can do with TW14 version

                              @OnlookerDelay

Everywhere I look on social/forums, the FPS thing is basically the #1 thing getting talked about (complained about).

I totally get it, since it only impacts consoles, but that will surely be the vast majority of players.

Add in to that -- no CrossPlay that we are aware of and you get a lot of apprehension of what version to commit to

It's definitely doesn't feel like it's locked. I get a variable frame rate feel from the game and it wreaks havoc with my tempo. I play the PC version of 2K23 at 1080p and 60 Hz vsync and it feels solid most of the time. My 7.8 lower handicap on the PC version will attest to that!
