Banff was the last course added to Rory, and that dropped on May 11, 2016. The game released on July 14, 2015. Banff was the 14th real-world course in the game, the 16th available in the career mode, and 19th overall. So it took about 10 months to get to 14 real courses!!! Woof!!!

When I bought the game it had 20 courses. Bought it way after it dropped.

YouTube just pointed me in the direction of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0EBgMnJ9D4

"Michigan Golf Live" did an interview with Craig Penner, the same dev who did the OS interview.

The show's host said he spent an hour in a "private preview" at the PGA Show last month in Florida, too, and was "blown away" by the game.

I'm just stunned that it's next gen only and 30fps max (on consoles) -- and apparently with no options to pick a lower resolution + more FPS combo -- just .. such a bummer after this long wait.

It's 2023 and this isn't a flight simulator that's modeling the whole world and flight dynamics in real time -- It's a golf game ... c'mon EA.

This is the main reason I didn't get overly excited about the game.
I really hope it turns out great as it was a planned day one buy.
Was really hoping to have a game where I felt like I was golfing and not just number crunching or trying to hit cursor marks..

At the end of the day it's EA..
Again though I hope my excitement grows.

I hope they end up showing some PC gameplay before launch too. Show what the game can look like at 60fps. Not that I'm worried at all with my rig, I know I'll get well over 60fps at 4k.

For all the console players, I hope they patch in a 60fps mode at some point. At least for the ones with ea access, you can try it out for 10hrs when the trial drops.

If the consoles (vast majority of sales) are stuck at 30fps, I really doubt they'll show us any PC@60fps footage -- as it would just highlight how much worse 30fps on the consoles is.

Repawn mentioned that yesterday in his stream. You might want to take that with a grain of salt.

Why is that? I was in Respawn's stream, too, and they mentioned that someone who was an EA dev did a video from the PGA Show that said the game was awesome, etc. It sounded like that video was a bit questionable in its source...

But Michigan Golf Live is not connected to EA...so I think that was a different video that was referred to in the Respawn stream.

I watched the entire Michigan Golf Live video, and it was actually informative. Didn't really go much into the guy's experience at the PGA Show, except at the end when he said he got 15 min. of gameplay with it and was "blown away", not just by the game but by the dev team's dedication or something like that. The rest stuck to development and behind the scenes things. I think this was a pretty good video and a nice interview, to be honest.

I'm sure the game is awesome and we're going to be blown away... by the graphics compared to the Unity engine at 2K/HB. Augusta is going to look fantastic.

At least we know that 30 fps is going to be consistent at 4K. If I set 2K23 to 4K I’m not getting 30 fps locked it’s stuttering & heavy feeling but if I go to performance it’s definitely better but it’s not locked & consistently at the same frame rate it still has unexpected hitches in animation.

It’s amazing how many people here can state their opinion as fact. Look, I’m not happy about the 30fps either but that’s what it’s going to launch as. As I said earlier I believe nhl 23 is 30fps and it’s not gamebreaking. Maybe or maybe not they’ll patch it in later as it sound like it’ll be a live service vs yearly release. So far, this dev team sounds like they’re all in which is a breath of fresh air. I’m still cautiously optimistic. Hopefully the course deep dive releases soon and then marketing with videos really ramps up.

Just to clear things up, this is what was said in the Respawn stream:

Someone posted in chat: "I watched a video of someone who played it at something called the “pga show” and said it’s the best looking and playing golf game ever.... obviously 1 dudes opinion"

That quote could be referring to the Michigan Golf Live video.

Then, another person in chat said, "I saw that same video (or one similar), it was a reporter who was told by a dev playing the game, that it's the "best playing golf game ever". No bias there at all."

Michigan Golf Live video did not show a dev playing the game at all, so I think that was referring to something totally different.

Interesting on the mood swings in this forum regarding this game (me included). I'm still excited for the game but definitely some downers in that interview for me.

                                -30fps
                                -no weather
-sounds to me like meter is stuck on for putting power (personal pet peeve as I think putting without meter on 2K nails what real life putting is like where it is feel and muscle memory for me).
                                -aiming marker dictating swing distance

So definitely some negatives. But they also said some good things. I'm still excited but do have a little more concern than I did a month ago.

My biggest concern is hoping the ball physics aren't the same as Rory. It just didn't feel the best to me compared to other golf games I've played. Hoping for more TW feel than Rory feel.
