Looks like this does require another patch update...downloading a 10.3 GB update on my PS4 now.

11.68 GB on my Series X. I'm hoping there are some other improvements to the game beyond cross-platform and ranked matchmaking. I'd love to see a solid 60 FPS performance option on the Series X, for example.

Someone elsewhere mentioned that the live ghost issue has been fixed. But nothing official to this point.

That would be a welcome addition to the game to finally bring it back to the functional status of its forerunner! I played a 3 hole quick match on my Series X, after playing 3 rounds last night on my PC, where I have the graphics set to yield 60 FPS.

My opening tee shot went 58 yards and never got above knee high. I therefore don't think there's been any frame rate enhancement on the Series X version. I can't make myself hit a tee shot that bad on the PC version!

Just played my first ranked match. 1v1 at TPC Scottsdale's front 9. Played fine. Got matched up against another PS user.

To get crossplay, you do have to mess with settings on PS: Playstation users will have to turn on Crossplay in Social menu (inside settings) as it is defaulted to off.

XBox and PC have it on by default (there is no crossplay option in menu for those systems)

does it mix input methods? i know there's crossplay amongst all platforms. but on ranked does it mix:

m&kb vs stick swing vs 3-button click?

or does is separate them into different ranked sessions?

(it seems to put everyone in 1 category.. this will help me decide which swing i'll use in ranked)

I think everyone is in one group. The only thing you decide on is if you play 1v1 or 2v2. I didn't notice anything about divisions based on swing style. Everyone plays on Pro, with meters and such turned on. I believe you can turn off the meters, though. But all ranked matchmaking tiers play on Pro.

PS - get used to people chipping on the greens instead of putting!

God I really wish they would do something about this. Make it putter only on the green, at least for ranked. It's already a massive problem in societies and just regular online. I'm not really one for "demanding" the player play a certain way, but this should fall under the same umbrella as not allowing splash shots anywhere but the bunker

Another fun benefit of cross play...you can now see the course designer's screen name on any platform. No longer does it show "Community Member" if the course was designed on a system different than yours.

theCLV24 is a PC designer, and I am on PS4. But I can see he designed Chattanooga Muni in my game!

Would also be great if they optimized the offline modes too, for instance allowing PGA Pro vs. Pro in Casual Mode.

I wonder to what extent this has been fixed. I would like to be able to see all of the courses each person designed not just one or two. But I'll take it.

There is still no "View Other Courses By Designer" or whatever it used to be called when that feature was in TGC19 and previous games, which is a bummer. But every course now, when you look at it in these menus, shows someone's screen name instead of the generic "Community Member" that came up if it was designed on a different platform than yours.
