To me it's less about any marketing strategy and more about the 2 week delay. I can't remember another sports title doing this in recent memory, especially in the era of day 1 patches. The delay has me as a consumer worried (and I REALLY want this game to be awesome!). Maybe the strategy all along was wait until after football, March Madness, etc and push they hype literally right before the Masters start. I just hope they are not up against the clock and are contractually obligated to put out an unfinished product

The Xbox Pre Order Game Download is Out and comes in at 45gb....

If memory serves me right, the majority of that comes from the play-by-play commentary. And there is a ton of it in this version, or so I'm told.

I was convinced there would be an EA notification on Friday about next week's career mode deep dive. It will be next week... won't it?

I think that brand image was a precursor for the career mode thing coming next week, as someone else had said.

Their past two "deep dive" videos have come out on Thursday or Tuesday, so...let's go with a Wednesday video this time!

My vote is the 23rd or 24th for the career mode. Then the following week for the masters play through, if that’s still a thing.

Could listen to Iona Stephen on loop, something about her voice..? On the other hand Frank Nobilo is jarring & I’d have to shut him up.

Commentary always gets a quick "set it to zero" for me

I like crowd reactions and ambient noise, etc

Ultimately I want to simulate me being out on the course, not me watching myself out there on a TV broadcast so much.

To be honest I’ll keep it on for a month or two by then It’ll get repetitive. Since there seems to be the option of turning off the tournament atmosphere, I’ll more than likely be turning off the commentary and tournament assets just so it’s my created golfer. Just like I do in 2k.

The only presentation I’m curious and will be make or break for me are the camera angles. Curious to see what direction they take with them.

Anything less than what 2K has will be leaving EA found wanting. The custom camera on 2k23 putting is great, it can be locked in from any view point . Near perfect but would love that custom camera on full shots also.
